Poll: Why is Halo so Earth-like?  [closed]
Bungie is lazy.:  8%

Forerunners are Human:  18%
(7 Votes)
Halo is very very advanced.:  21%
(8 Votes)
Something more........:  53%

Total Votes: 38

Ever notice that Halo is very Earth-like? The only exception would be 343 Guilty Spark, where there are some glowing plant things. Those who think that Forerunners are Human, that is proof. One could think that Bungie is lazy. Or that Halo is so advanced that it recreated a perfect human enviroment, just for the Pillar of Autumn. Or there is an even more surprising reason Bungie is keeping under wraps.... Theories are welcome.

Ya I know that the grunt home world was icy. Actualy i have no clue. Maby the forerunners were reading a landscaping magazine from earth and liked what they saw. Forerunners did know about the humans i think, but I dont think that they were humans. =)

Hey I'm saying Bungie's NOT lazy, of all things that would be blasphemy! I agree wholey with you about workin their butts off, but I just added that option for it is fair for those who think Bungie is lazy (if they exist).

You obviously have never learned the value of hard work, let alone the amount of time, patience and work it takes to make a game like halo and halo 2. Lazy? no. Stressed? maybe. Who really cares? not me

Please read my other posts. I explain that.

for gods sake, spend the same hours i did reading the hbo story page. personaly, i think it is because the forerunners happened to be a carbon based life form, and all carbon based life forms need an earth normal enviornment (or something close) to live

or maby the covenent where trying 2 eliminate the humans and why not have a war on the home planet where humans originated from. every think that they where just thinking logically and figured that it would be fun to create a futuristic environment that players could rip apart and distroy?

Well if that was so, then all carbon-based life forms would need the same things to survive. Look at some bacteria? Oxygen kill them. I don't think we will ever know unless Bungie tells us.

well, the most reasonable explanation would be that the forerunners were carbon-based. and about the oxygen killing bacteria? well, if you remember the flood changed the atmosphere so they could survive on halo.

I think that it's because the Forerunners were probably carbon-based and came from a planet similar to Earth. If you think about it, most things on Earth need the same stuff to survive, so the Forerunners might have figured that everything needed those things. Whatever, I don't really think it matters. Halo is still the best game there is right now. (Halo 2 will be on November 9, which is 172 days away, counting today).

Heres an idea. Lets think logicaly, now if Halo was a ring to destroy all life in the galaxy to destroy the Flood, why would they put a enviroment on Halo? If a life form came to Halo and realeased the Flood, why would they make the ring nice and habitable? Its like making a habitat perfect for turkeys in a slaugter house. Maybe the enviroment is unintentional, and life prevailed and formed on Halo all by itself .

Maybe they figured they would make it habitable so that somebody could get on there and release the flood, the flood would kill whatever started living on Halo. Then, Halo would probably float up to random planets and the flood would just have some sort of massive invasion.

Why was the flood there!? I mean if Halo is suposed to kill all life (using several similar constructs) would they keep the flood alive!? Seems strange, can any one clarify?
I do have one theory, the forrunners were very advance technologically (obviously) and the flood was a weapon which they stored there on Halo. The flood could be some sort of genetically created "thing". And maybe halo is nice place, like earth it was for the forrunners to live there.
What do ya think?

(ohh and the flood dont use the halo as an invasion vehicle,on halo you have to defend the covanant ship from the flood so they dont escape to other planets!!)

Halo was meant to contain the flood. The Forerunner studied them. Halo was not made to be a good habitat for the flood because the flood were let out by the Covenant. Why is Halo a weapon. A) because the forerunners wanted a precaution against the flood B) they wanted a weapon against everybody and th index decides to use it to kill the flood's food.
