H ere it is. My guess is it was locked because other people were throwing it off topic.
Remember: Stupid/pointless threads get locked. Your topic had no real point, other than people posting in "pig latin". That thread would suffer (and did suffer) the same fate as a thread in binary, hex, spanish, russian... etc.

And no, I wasn't the one that locked it, but it was pretty obvious.

So, why did a ninja stop in, and not lock it?

Mods lock based on their own judgment. While one mod might think a thread is ok, another might think otherwise.

I don't see any reply made by VII Toast, maybe you want to take another look at your thread?

Ah... well then, he must have had something to contribute to the discussion, therefore forgetting that it wasn't the most 'open' discussion (considering not everyone knows how to read pig latin).

He likes to delete posts of people when they accuse him of harrasment, and playing with cheats on live, too.

what a coincidence!

I suggest you take it up with me if you have problems with a moderator's actions on bungie.net.

Posting publically about it is unprofessional, and when you fail to back it up with evidence and just repeat things other people say, that can be considered harassment. So don't do it.

This thread is getting off topic. It went from discussing a feature for thread locking to whether threads need to be locked or not, and so on.

back on topic then!

I think it would be a cool feature, didnt the ninjas recently get a 'checkbox' type thing recently when banning someone, to say wether it was for
[ ] spam [ x ] flames ect? the same could be applied to thread locking.

It should look something like this. Apparently they have a "Ban Form" that you can fill out. At least this is how it is in groups.

Actually, it doesn't. I'm an admin in most of my groups, and I've never seen it.

Why do they need to explain the rules when they delete a thread? You are suppose to read the rules before you post or make a topic. I don't understand why there is a debate about this. If your thread gets locked, look at the rules. They designed and monitor these forums and have every right to take it away. The mods are not babysitters and don't need to tell you everything. They usually do so because they care about the users by getting rid of the negatives (bad posts/threads/users) and promoting the positives (the impact that Bungie has had on all of us).

Because sometimes it may not be exactly clear why it was deleted. Or, in my case, a mod stops by, but much later another mod deletes it, and you don't know why or who. It's just something extra that can be beneficial.

Here's an example. We don't NEED to know the person's last post, but we do know. Same thing. We may not NEED to know who locked it, but it would be nice.

I think it would be a good feature. It could often save the mods time, as then they would only have to explain why it was locked if someone asked. For all the brown-noses here saying 'it should be obvious11!' or 'xomg you broke teh rules' well, it's not always, and the mods aren't perfect, they're just trying to do their job. I had a thread locked once anonymously and for a reason I couldn't see, so I posted about it in here just asking how I could find out. Turned out it had been locked kind of by mistake, so it was unlocked again.

Yes it does. I used it like ten times yesterday. It pops up when you press the Unleash Ninjas button. If it doesn't, you should report a bug to bnetbugs@microsoft.com.

If you got an issue with the mods, talk to them about it using PM's...If you're wondering why a thread was locked, ask the overlord or one of the master forum ninjas.

May Frankie have mercy on their souls.

A ban from Achronos is a lot worse than even Shishka. That's saying something.

If it helps I delete the "where did my thread go" threads instead of locking them :-)

Ooooh, smart.
