There is an option to have Bungie save your information, so you don't have to type it in each time. Just make sure that you accept Bungie's cookies and that your computer doesn't delete them.

It has been doing this lately. A few weeks ago, I never had to click the "Sign In" button whenever I visited this site. Lately, however, if I sign in once, close my browser, open Bungie.net again, I have to click sign in again. Does this have something to do with my cookies?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

that's the way the microsoft network works....
altho you can have it save your email and password (not very wise).

I do have that option selected. It just gets very irritating when I visit Bungie.net it says at the top "You are not signed in...". It only started doing this the past few weeks. Then, once I click "Sign In", the page refreshes with me signed in.

um the option just saves it so the information is automatically put into the text fields.. it doesn't automatically sign you in (eg you still need to push the sign in button).

And yes it is an irritating setup compared to many other forums.

Lately whenever I go to visit a forum, it signs me in and drops me onto the home page of bungie.net instead of the place I wanted to go. Its irritating.

I never had this problem a month or so ago. I could simply click "Sign In" and never have to click it again to be signed in.

The problem would be that your browser is deleting your cookies when you close the brower. In internet options, you should be able to change that.

For the record, i'd piss my self silly if there was an Armatik action figure.

No, that's not it, otherwise he'd have to enter his credentials again.

First of all, saving your email and password leaves you susceptable to cookie stealing, therefore people being able to get into your account, which is BAD.

It can't possibly be that much of an annoyance. It's one lousy page, it automatically signs you out if you close your browser, or you're inactive for a certain amount of time. Basic security measures.

Is that something that could have happened when I installed new updates on my computer?

The passport system that Bungie.net uses was updated to use Windows Live ID, maybe that could've had something to do with it, but as far as I know the session timeout has been there for as long as I can remember.

Clearing your saved information, such as cache, cookies, and other things will also cause you to get logged out. So if for some reason you don't want anyone to see what sites you've been to, you're going to have to deal with it.

O.o

I don't know if this is related, but I noticed that If you sign out on something like say Hotmail, you will be signed out of everything else, like bungie.net, live.com, xbox.com, etc...

I also noticed that closing all of the browser windows while logged onto a Windows Live ID enabled site will mean that you will have to sign in again the next time you visit a Windows Live ID enabled site.

So maybe the reason why you didn't have to sign in is because you left at least one browser window open and closed all the WIndows Live ID ones without first signing out? Bah.

You know why that happens? Because all of these sites use .NET Passports, it's pretty much the same thing as having a bunch of Bungie.net windows opening, signing out of one, and having all the rest signed out.

It is recommended that you sign out, especially if you're using a computer that others use too.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

I think it's better for you to keep signing in. It's a bad idea to have the "remember settings" option enabled. Security risks n stuff.

Then again I'm just learning this now.
