Im not sure... BTW to the first response, check the elapsed time between all 3 posts... I reached the exavt char limit on the first post, adn I was simply reserving reserving space incase i need to add somthing, or correct myself, as a personal error most definatly isnt uncommon with me

Maybe a nice Ninja will help us in where this is to be put.

Thats retarded, reserving posts... don't do that. Anyways MLG has nothing to do with bungie... thats probably why they locked it

It's simple why he would say that MLG is such a small audience: Rumble Hardcore.

It was begged and begged to be put in, and when it was, not even those who begged for it played it.

It doesn't matter how many people are registered on the MLG website. What matters is productivity. And since MLG players don't play Match-Making, they don't get their lists. That's why they did Rumble Hardcore- because the community wanted it, and they got it. But with the lowest usage in Match-Making History, it was taken out, and future lists for MLG probably won't be tried again.

MLG didn't make Halo 2 what it was. The overall community did.

*edit* I'm not Anti-MLG, by the way. I'm neutral. And I think Optimatch is ok for this, if it's about discussing MLG playlists. But if it's about the Halo 2 community, this would go in New Mombasa, but it's their call.

This forum is for Playlist Discussion..........not discussion of Forum Rules and Code of Conduct.

You seem to be slamming Shishka for his comments but I am unclear why. Perhaps you weren't around back than. The forums (and not just Optimatch) were rife with the pro-MLGers and anti-MLGers not debating but just insulting each other. Shishka's comments were directed at the attiitude of those posting her. They were not comments on either side. Both sides (but mostly the pro-MLGers) were self-rightous. There was no debate, it was just yelling. Thread after thread. It was all just flame bait.

I'm not going to address the merits pro/con of MLG rules (for obvious reasons), but Shishka was clearly addressing how the debate was being handled.

As to generalizations... Shishka was refering to those posting in these forums. It was a valid gereralization of those here back in those days... on both sides of the fence.

The Septagon is the best place to discuss forum rules (any forums). I'll move this, but I wouldn't expect much since the MLG/Anti-MLG threads ends up just being a flamefest, which is why that rule was created.

Bad moderating rules the forums... good job to everyone tonight. I am glad that you show favoritism. Please get good at your job, then do it.

While some mods can express themselves strongly, I don't see how in this case Shishka was expressing a stong bias. At the time, the "Debate" (that was being driven by repeated aggressive posts by certain members that wanted certain playlists) was out of control. And it seems to me that was what Shishka was addressing.

BTW, who here has noticed that this was moved to the LEAST active forum, where due to this inactivity it will almost surely die?

Because the issue was one that dealt with the Forums as a whole.

Personally, I thought that New Mombasa would have been the right place to put this, but the issue at hand is about MLG vs. Non-MLG debates in the Bungie.net Forums, and since it's a Forum issue (as opposed to a Halo 2 community issue), it's put in the Septagon.

It was moved here because this is the appropriate forum, activity has nothing to do with it.
As for this being the least active forum...

I find it funny that you would bother to analyze a post from over a year ago. I didn't have this account back then, but on my old one I'd drop by to read the optimatch and halo 2 general forums. Practically every topic was some MLG/anti MLG discussion. I use the term discussion lightly since it was a cripple fight between strongly opposed sides who screamed "BR IS ONLY BALANCED WEAPON LOLOLOLOL" and "MLG IS FOR -blam!-S."

So a rule was made and he decided to clarify as to why the rule was put into place.

On the 100,000 members thing, you do realize a strong majority of them probably don't play halo 2 optimatch or might have stopped all together. But I should know I'll only get some long post of no content back in response.

Are you referring to this quote?
Here's the whole of it: Your ring of friends do not represent the entire community. The MLG does not represent the entire community. Just because you played Halo 1 one way doesn't mean everyone else did, and by no means is the way you played the "only" way to play.
While I agree that is a bit out of the blue (although for most it is hard to seperate "MLG" from "Harcore", regradless of their differences... because main of the posts relating to both become very very similar. (AGAIN, when I use MLG here, I am ONLY referring to posts here on the forums. NOT all the posts, just many of them... the loudest obnoxious ones.)

I believe any thing Shishka may have said about MLG "watering down" Halo (although I am unable to find what you are talking about), he was referring to the often expressed opinion that there is only one way Halo should be played. These tend to be folks you discuss how they are the ones who played Halo 1 forever and the rest. He was saying that anyone single gametype made Halo dull.

The other point is that mods are allowed to express their opinions. While I'll agree that sometimes they make posts that aren't the best PR moves, they have always been directed at individuals and not communities on a whole. The anti-MLG/pro-MLG boycott was put into effect not because of bias, but because the debate had reached the level of politics or religion. I just don't see where Shishka denigrated MLG or the MLG community as a whole... just those who chose the posted poorly on the B.net forums.

A couple things:
1. Moving it to the "least active forum" would actually keep it alive longer, since it won't be pushed off the first page quickly.
2. This is the forum where the appropriate people will see it (moderators and Bungie employees), whereas it would get lost in Optimatch.

Be happy I moved it, rather than just locking it for being off topic.
