So, with Halo2 only 22 days away and counting, I thought now would be a good time to upgrade my sound system. But since a real 5.1 setup isnt possible in my room, I thought some good headphones is the next best thing.

I'd like stay within a reasonable price limit (definetly less than $300, preferably less than $200), but not at the cost of poor sound quality. Any suggestions? Brands? Specific models?

Now adays you can buy surround sound that will work almost everywhere....mount speakers to walls etc, and you can do it for the price you want to spend, check that out instead of headphones

Yeah, that was my first thought, but mounting 5 speakers on my walls just isnt an option. If theres some wireless speakers that I can just set around my room or something...that could work. Otherwise, its gotta be headphones

I don't think you'll find any good headphones for under $300. You should look into a 5.1 mini-system, and you'll certainly get some bang for your buck (no pun intended). Here's one that my friend has, and it sounds damn good.

I'm not sure about that, you should browse around on their site.

Here Flamechu.

EDIT- Apparently, you can't buy this online anymore, but I've seen it at Circuit City, so you should try there.

I got my surround sound system for 80 bucks. There were selling a 5 speaker, 1 subwoofer, sound system at EB Games for the said amount. On my pathetically low budget, the trade off came quite well. The speakers work well but the subwoofer isnt all too great (for 80 dollars I'm happy with the quality of the speakers alone). I set the speakers around my room and it is now my temporary sound system until I hit college.

P.S. - If you're low on cash and need a decent sound system I suggest going to EB games.
