Will Halo 2 support split-screen LAN, so that I can have 10 buddies play on three Xboxes?

it does have split screen LAN (i'm almost certain) but i've heard its 2 players per xbox on halo2 so you might only be able to have 6 players, sorry.

Why would Halo 2 only support two players per xbox? Halo 1 supports four players per xbox.

because halo 2 is more advanced in other aspects. i don't know for sure but there has been some talk about it in the forums.

They are just forums. Just like the 'pay for clans' rumors that went around.

I don't think so, because if you're playing on somebody else's server, you would have twice the amount of bandwidth going out and coming in. Most every $50/month broadband connection would lag like a son of a gun.

I hope it is four, otherwise that's stupid. My friends still get together on weekends for 8 vs 8 on Halo 1. I'd rather them sacrifice something new, to still be able to have 4 per Xbox.

on crimson skies you can go on LIVE on a single Xbox. one person signs onto his account and the other goes as an annonomous guest of that account. i don't know of a game where you can both use your own account though. but as it is certainly possible, i hope it is in Halo 2.

Zamamee, Halo 2 will not support four players per xbox because it is "more advanced"?

Maybe in terms of lighting and graphics, it may slow down the XBox, so it's limited to 2 players.

EDIT: Just a guess. I still want 4 players per Xbox.

I haven't read anything official saying that there will be a limit on how many players-per-box there will be. I think it started from the same meatheads who started 'paying for clans' and 'the yellow banshee.' I'd bet good money that we'll be able to put four to a box by the time Halo2 ships.

You can rest easy.

it may not be able to cope with 4 players per xbox because of its other advancements (poor example, graphics) i'm not very technical as such but it my gaming experience more players on one console on a multiplayer normally slow it down moreso than if there was say, 2. a lot more has been put into halo2 such as more explosions, blowupable things and destrutable envirionments. in that way it is advanced. but these advancements might cause too much lag/difficulties when put into action when 4 people are playing the same xbox. its just a theory, but it is plausable when you think of other games.

There is a word for it. 'Destructable'

"blowupable"
good word, making words up rocks. Talking trash to my friends while playing I came up with "Unstoppabilty". It pisses them off, you can only use it after the computer says "Running Riot" the second time.

i already used destructable in my statement and another word was needed to emphasise my point. by the way to all those who read my statements on this, its just a plausable theory, not hard evidence.

If you have 2 people on a box for live, you would only need twice the upload, and just the same download. A high speed broadband connection could probley do it.

That is entirely true. Why would they decrease the number of players for?
