You should, but I advise you to buy some more RAM, Besides, the machine should say vista capable on the front if its new.

This is what the official site says today, it might change though and personally i find the minimum requirements to be somwhat low

eek! horrible choice in videon card, it has good graphics but it cant process for %$#@! because of the 4 piplines, i made the same mistake you did tho, and i payed for it dearly. but ya, your system will support Vista

Home basic is just that. Basic. That is a loop-hole for calling a machine 'Vista-ready'. Home basic = crap. If you want a really Vista-ready machine, at least double the recomended specs.

Yeah, I know I won't be able to run it in high res, but I "might", because I can run Oblivion in ultra high. I'm not sure. But I know for sure that I can probably run it on like medium settings.

"because I can run Oblivion in ultra high."

Bull -blam!-, Oblivion uses 500+ mb of my ram, there's no way you can run it with windows in the background. And that x1300 is crap. Nice try though liar.

if he OCed it, it could handle it, dont underestimate the X1300 when its OCed, it has quit a bit of headroom, but this guy doesnt strike me as the OCing type

OCing crap doesnt make it any less crappy. It is still an x1300.

I'm going to have to agree. Although I think it could've been said nicer, I doubt that he is playing oblivion with ultra high settings unless its like 640x480. My 7600GT only gets 70 fps with halo at 1920x1200 with everything turned on sometimes.

You must run Oblivion like crap with 512MB RAM, even if you have a 512 MB Graphics Card, 512 MB RAM is somewhat low compared to what is required now. You will most likely only be able to run the lowest Vista, because of your RAM, and possibly your graphics card(I don't think the X1300 even has a 512MB version. I think its only 128 or 256MB.). I'll be able to run Vista Ultimate. YAY!

P.S:I can run Oblivion on Ultra High too with a 256MB Graphics Card. But I also have 2 GB's of RAM.
