Playing the Halo campaign on legendary is a great challenge. Made even harder if your going lone wolf.

Vital is the plasma pistol and MD6 pistol. a combination which can take down any covenant foot soldier u come up against.

I've managed to beat the whole of the game on legendary except for the library level. I seem to run out of ammo early on. Charging headlong through the level is the easisest way to die in most cases. But hanging back can see u mobed by wave after wave of flood.

I'm looking for advice out there on how to beat the level. Other general advice on beating halo on legendary is also welcome.

Two weapons that really help on The Library: Pistol and Shotgun. Always try to stay in cover, and make sure you don't box yourself in tight places. It's annoying when Flood swarm at you, only to realise your trapped in. Use your grenades a lot, especially frags. The Rocket Launcher also comes in handy at times. Though make sure you don't get hit by a rocket flood. Just whip out your pistol and take the bugger down! When the Sentinels come, let them do some of the dirty work, though they get destroyed pretty easily on Legendary. Try to preserve them, though. Which means you'll have to do some of the dirty work and fight the flood! Hope those help you. 'Cause some of them certainly helped me.

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

Always aim for the carrier forms first, that is key.

The thing I do, is when coming from somewhere I cant go back to, I slowly proceed forward and shoot with pistol. If youre low on ammo, go somewhere where flood keep coming.

If you invite me to your group you will be blocked.

Shotgun for the big guys, and a pistol to mop up the rest.

The AR is only good for the infection forms, which can easily be melee'd after the shoot out.

Always aim for carrier forms, and don't be afraid of letting your sheild down if you need to run out and get ammo, you can last a long time if you know what to do.

Take out the rocket launcher flood before they get you.

Don't be totally biased against plasma weapons, they aren't that bad in Halo CE.

Thanks for the response I've got the general ideas now.

1) pistol and shotgun, are useful weapons
2) so is the rocket launcher and grenades (which do great damage but r in short supply sometimes)
3) an rifle always comes in handy for the little buggers
4) get the exploding flood first. Is always solid advice. Just sometimes u've got more immediate problems
5) Have some good luck.

So I think it's time 2 put on that lucky shirt, set up some cold drink and energizing grub, turn on the xbox and shut the door.

Cheers. By the way the pistol does rule on the original Halo.

I found that key on the truth and reconcilliation is the sniper rifle.
When going into a new area move ahead carefully (hug useful terain) use the sniper rifle to quitely take out what covenant u can. This will usualy leave most of the area clear. Have a plasma weapon in your secondary slot so u can take out the sheilds of jackals and let the marine's firepower do the rest. Also key outside is taking and holding the fixed guns. Using this firepower u should be allright, just watch out 4 a grunt with a plasma grenade.

Inside the ship I switch to the plasma pistol and a rifle of some sort (either plasma or human, from a dead marine. We can't expect these guys to last long in here). Acurate throwing of plasma grenades helps along with the invisbility power ups around. Needlers r also useful with explosions in tight corridors.

Sometimes though it's just a bit of luck. A challenge it is indeed.

Learn exactly when they attack and from where, don't be afraid to backtrack for every scrap of ammo and nades, and when in combat stay moving at all times and stay away from walls and corners you could get caught on because it's over quick if you get bogged down. So long as you keep managing to dance around in the gaps in between the flood you should give yourself long enough to take them all down. Don't worry about being surrounded, it prevents those who are further away from being able to shoot you. When you do use the pistol make every shot count. So long as you are free to keep dispensing shotgun justice you should be alright. Oh and make sure you don't have work the day after it can take a while lol.

Here's another key: Corners are good! Your back is to the wall, not the enemy!

Corners with escape routes are better, and should always be looked for. Once you find them, keep them, or you're thoroughly screwed.

I know what you mean, to get past that point, I died countless times. after surviving wave after wave of covenant, and after the hunters were dead, I only had two marines left.

Really? I counted how many times I died. I forget the exact number, but it was somewhere near 50. I didn't have any marines left.

I honestly did not die once when I first played that part.

I watched my radar, and as soon as I saw a door open I would throw a grenade inside the door and kill most of them. I believe that is the key to why I did not die.

The Elites were not hard for me. Most of them were those easy to kill light blue ones, that could be killed quite easily with an assault rifle.

When the Gold Elites came out, I would just stick them with a plasma grenade and move on. They are not very hard to stick as they usually run right at you.

Interesting sig, Ratman91. Is the punchline "because they will cry"?

Actually all my trouble was at the gravity lift, all those damn groups coming down, without no breaktime. Plus, I'm one of those guys who runs in all Gung-ho, kills everything, and ends up with no sheild and one bar of health. Boy was that level a wake-up call on how to play Legendary.
