Strange evolution how people have come to believe

The Septagon is too high brow for my devious humor, so unless the topic is; "Atomic Weggie totally rocks...please discuss" I probably won't be back for another two years.

Please don't create threads addressing individual users. Thats what the PM system is for.

I'd do it, but threads about individuals aren't allowed :-(

But seriously, I had a good time discussing today. You guys enlightened me on another "side" of Trolls that I never knew about. I'll take the knowledge and be sure to distinguish between the two.

I'd so give you a cookie right now if I had some.

What's wrong with trolls and spammers? They just add a bit of flavor to Bungie.net. Cmon, if we didn't have trolls, flaming, and spam, it wouldn't be Bungie.net. I say let them go, for every one that is banned, 10 more will take their place.

Trolls are like your drunken uncle at Thanksgiving. You say you don't want him to come but deep down you know it won't be complete without him.

Working off of what we've established already about trolls v. Trolls, this place would still be Bungie.net, just much better. Then again, if everyone who was called any one of those three names were banned, none of us would be here. Flaming, spam, and trolling are things we can do without. Now Trolls...as I said before, I'm split between them. On the one hand they break the rules on a few occasions (I've seen more cases where the Trolls actually contributed to the thread than where they've spammed it), but they usually break the rules by introducing comedy where it probably shouldn't be. I'd never file a true Troll as a bad person. And quite often I found Trolls to make threads a little bit better.

And Weggie, you will be sorely missed. By me anyways. I'm too lazy to sift through everything to find your posts, so you're effectively leaving where I reside.

A bit of humour, especially patented Weg-Humour ™, always has a place. Does it really hurt to put some fun into discussion, especially ones that have been repeated more times than "Cheers"? I think not.

Don't give me that Wegg, I watch TV, I know you have racoons. I'VE SEEN THEM, OK? Can't believe you'd keep them from me. What is this, a conspiracy? Keep the racoons from the Brits? Look, the independence thing was years ago, OK? GET OVER IT. I want to see a bloody racoon, and you're gonna make it happen.

Never, in a thread where a "troll" resides, "The Trolls" can reign and actually turn the thread good again, as it is their wit and humor that overrides all spamming and assholism that goes on. "The Trolls" is actually the best defense against trolls.

What the best defense against trolls is a subjective argument, but I'll drink to the fact that Trolls can help to revive discussion where a troll had laid waste, though both groups usually get hit with the Banhammer.

Long live the Trolls!

There's a group called "The Trolls?" That's the first I've heard of it.
Anyway, thanks for pointing that out, all of you.

This turned in to one heck of a thread.

The differences aside, I enjoyed debating with you guys. Spent most of my B.net time in The Septagon today (not that it's a bad thing, LoL)

I've been on B.net for almost two years and have never posted in the Septagon. So this whole thread is a first for me.

The Septagon is too high brow for my devious humor, so unless the topic is; "Atomic Weggie totally rocks...please discuss" I probably won't be back for another two years.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

So, the consensus with you all is trolls=bad, but Trolls=okay. Makes sense. I don't mind the Trolls, because I sometimes try to be one. I dislike the trolls, as does everyone else, for the same reasons as everyone else. So that's my input on this situation.

I haven't been on in a while, so I didn't notice a difference in the overall amount of trolls. So I can't contribute on that topic. Most everyone else does seem to agree with you Matt, so I guess there is your answer.

And, as with the term "troll", its a pejorative in both the real world and the virtual world. It will (probably) never be common knowledge that there are different varieties of trolls. So, I guess for the members who consider themselves "Trolls", that will be something you all have to live with. I personally don't care what other people call me. Its all the same to me.

Looks like I got in a little late on this topic. But it is a great topic nonetheless. I like the dichotomy in the "trolls vs Trolls" debate. I knew about the difference, but I didn't know all the categories. I'm glad to have learned that.

That's about all that I have right now. So on that note,

"Holy drawn out argument Batman, why can't I look away?"
