Windows Vista is the next Windows Operating System. It is software, not hardware. Bungie is making Halo 2 PC on Vista for several reasons. Vista will support DX 10 cards and 64 bit processors, this is a huge plus for any game. H2PC can't be made for Windows XP for the simple reason that Bungie wants to give us the best experience possible. Ask yourself this, do you want Gearbox to posrt H2PC to XP? Or do you want Bungie to make a next-gen PC title? Also, by making the game Vista only, Bungie knows that you will be running a good PC, meaning that extremely high settings can be used for the first time.
Oh, I suggest you put on a flame suit before Master Kim gets here to complain about your grammer....
Spoken like a typical Bungie tool. This whole "vista only" crap is just an obvious restriction that was put in place by Microsoft to force people to upgrade to Vista.
There is NO reason that an xbox port should require vista to run, and features like 64 bit support and direct x 10 are equally useless, my old pc could run any xbox port perfectly at the highest settings, all while using a 5 year old video card.
Therefore, what possible reason could their be for FORCING pc players to need vista to run halo 2? None, save money.
Of course Microsoft's awesome marketing fellas don't seem to realize that anyone loves halo 2 enough to spend $200+ to play it probably has an xbox and halo 2 already. Those that DONT have an xbox and halo 2, probably hate the game for some fanboyish reason("It's only ok","Lol m$ suxxorz", or the ever awesome "overrated") and won't be buying it anyways, less the little kids on system wars will be like "OMG U FANBOY".
