Try this argument in a courtroom and see where you go:

"I don't consider theft a crime because it is easy to accomplish. Don't be hating on me judge just because you don't have the skill to do it!"

Its basically a better OS than XP. It also allows you to play games in HD, if you've got the right equipment.

Windows Vista is the next Windows Operating System. It is software, not hardware. Bungie is making Halo 2 PC on Vista for several reasons. Vista will support DX 10 cards and 64 bit processors, this is a huge plus for any game. H2PC can't be made for Windows XP for the simple reason that Bungie wants to give us the best experience possible. Ask yourself this, do you want Gearbox to posrt H2PC to XP? Or do you want Bungie to make a next-gen PC title? Also, by making the game Vista only, Bungie knows that you will be running a good PC, meaning that extremely high settings can be used for the first time.

Oh, I suggest you put on a flame suit before Master Kim gets here to complain about your grammer....

I suggest upgrading instead of buying a new one.

Its sad really, after years of quality gaming and playing FEAR Combat at med. quality, Im going to retire my 9250 and 1.48 GH mobo next month...

Im going to see how a 9800 and 2.8 GH mobo fares against my possesed parts...

Alienware is a huge ripoff. The specs are pretty lousy for the price point.

Just stick in a few sticks of RAM and buy anything better than a Radeon 9500 and you will handle Vista fine.

Yes, you are, dude. Gaming isn't cheap, as I stated in your other thread which you posted about a month or two ago. Besides, Microsoft doesn't need games to sell their OS, and I wish people would stop bashing Vista.

It was stated that H2PC will play in High Def. on Vista. What actually does this mean?? What is the max resolution with Vista?

Agreed, kim. People really should stop bashing Vista...seeing that the current XP architecture is SIX FREAKING YEARS OLD (as opposed to Apple users, who get OS upgrades every half-a-year-or-so). To be completely honest, I'm more excited about Vista than I am about Halo 2.

Alienware is just not worth the cost. Their specs are decent, but not exactly the best. If you're looking for a gaming notebook and are williing to spend a few extra bucks, I would suggest a NorthWest Falcon or perhaps a Voodoo...those are considered the uber-gamer laptops.

You do realize that OS X is running off of Unix right? Unix happens to be, quite literally, 30+ years old....

Er...no, I didn't, mostly cause I'm pretty sure OS X ran off of something similar to in function, but not quite the old UNIX architecture.

a radeon 9800pro is completely outdated, and wont let you run the current halopc higher then 800by600 with settings maxed... to give you an idea of what a decent card is, i wouldnt buy anything less then a 6600gt from nvidia or a x700pro from ati.... even then it can barely handle 1024by768 on an excellent set up. i recomend a 7900gs/gt from nvidia, these seem to handle very high res' w/o any problems. (in halo) i have a dualcore3800+, 2 gigs of ram an x700pro (ati) and an excellent sound card and i record matches at 80 fps... in 800x600. this is barely enough today, and halo2 will be designed for directx10, these cards will START at 450-500$.

Where did you get this? You can run atleast 1024x768 with a 9800pro with maxed settings.

DX10 cards will come out the same way all other cards do. There will be budget, midrange, high range and extremely expensive range. I don't know why people expect everything for Vista to cost alot more than things are now.

WHAT DOES WINDOWS VISTA DO!!

Use a search engine, is it that hard to go onto Google.com and search the answers for yourself? Vista is a huge improvement over XP, it does many things. Go check it out.

"I'm not convinced. Perhaps more exclamation points are needed."
-Urk

build ur own pc. its pretty easy and can save u at least $1000 i would think...
but really, most pcs u buy now have the processor to handle these games. i would know, i have a gateway, i just plugged in a $300 graphics card, and i can basically handle any game on at least medium to high. fear takes a little work, but that game is above and beyond.

as for vista reasons: what they said is all tru, and microsoft wants a killer app for vista. personally, i wouldnt mind quality stepped up a bit, as my xbox 360 is currently fried in a corner, and never reached its 1st birthday...

this game is going to rock. if this is going to be similar to what halo pc did after halo xbox, its worth it. that game got me into online gaming, and made up one of the happiest times of my life. and no, i will not use xbox 360 controller. keyboard and mouse is all i need to make magic

Spoken like a typical Bungie tool. This whole "vista only" crap is just an obvious restriction that was put in place by Microsoft to force people to upgrade to Vista.

There is NO reason that an xbox port should require vista to run, and features like 64 bit support and direct x 10 are equally useless, my old pc could run any xbox port perfectly at the highest settings, all while using a 5 year old video card.

Therefore, what possible reason could their be for FORCING pc players to need vista to run halo 2? None, save money.

Of course Microsoft's awesome marketing fellas don't seem to realize that anyone loves halo 2 enough to spend $200+ to play it probably has an xbox and halo 2 already. Those that DONT have an xbox and halo 2, probably hate the game for some fanboyish reason("It's only ok","Lol m$ suxxorz", or the ever awesome "overrated") and won't be buying it anyways, less the little kids on system wars will be like "OMG U FANBOY".
