Hehehe, the weekend after E3, after playing Halo 2 multiplayer, and then a night of Halo fragging with such people as the head admin of HBO (Louis Wu), the inventer of the Warthog Jump (Randall Glass), Bungie's official number one fan (Miguel Chavez), and many, many others...

I played co-op Marathon 1 via Aleph One. Man, how I had missed the MA-75B and my fusion pistol. =)

maybe just a dumb question, but I never really read anything 'bout it, sooo, were the marathon series ever released for windows/dos in Europe? I've heard many great things about the games and have seen the artwork... I'd like to play them but I haven't seen them around, so hence the question.

Whoa now, buddy. I am a Sergeant in the Marine Corps, and I've fought for my country, and .. et hem.. I'd gladly take a grenade for the ole Master Cheif.

HOWEVER!!!

A new marathon would be SOO SWEET. I think you've never played it. Hmm??

Weird:
Marathon was mostly a mac game. I think it did make to windows eventually, but it wasn't too popular competing w/ doom. Anyway, the premise is, you're a cyborg kinda dude.. and the ships computer (like hal) helps you along while you fight the Si'ith (aliens). The plot and storyline was INTENSE.
Oh, and there are a few references to Marathon in Halo, btw.. Including the huge Marathon sign on the out side of the ship. Anyone else notice that one?? Hmm???

Marathon 2: Durandal was released for Windows 95, way, way back. However, it is possible to play all three Marathon's on an up to date PC, using Aleph One, the OpenGL Marathon 2/Infinity engine. M1A1, a Marathon 1 conversion for Aleph One, can be downloaded from the Archives. Marathon 2 and Infinity can be purchased from the Bungie Store (link at the bottom of your screen), and then converted using techniques listed at Aleph One's website.

Marathon was a decent game, by modern standards, a glorius bit of genius in it's day. All in all, it was great for us gamers, and nauseating while running sideways, for all those balemics out there.

Dude, you're so fired. ;)

It's S'pht. The Sith are the evil race of force-enabled aliens in the latest Star Wars movies. ;)

Whoa. Great info. I thought they were lost forever, playable only on my Macintosh Quadra 950 :X hahaha.
Shiska, you hear what I'm saying though, right? How cool would a new Marathon be? Even if they just redid the old ones on the Halo (or Halo2) engine!
