Thats not a bad PSU if you plan to upgrade to a DX 10 card (200-300watts)

Ok here is my update.

Well I took some suggestions from you guys and here are my Possible future specs

Motherboard

Processor

Hard Drive

RAM

Power Supply

Case

DVD Burner

I would also like to know if this stuff will all fit together inside the case...you know what I mean....be compatible with each other.

Same mouse and keyboard and I am still looking for a good cooling system so if you guys have any good suggestions I'll take them too.

Thos are all great choices, except the power supply.

While 700W seems like alot now, it will be low end when DX10 cards hit the market. DX10 will require a total assload of power, and i reccomend an 850-950W PSU if you ever want to run those cards and all your other hardware at their full potential. Rumors say that running dual card configs will require you to have a 1000+W PSU so i would say go all out if thats what you plan to do.

700 is plenty. Unless you want SLi.

Nice parts - they look good, and they are all fully compatable with eachother. My friend has the silver version of your case - its a sweet case, with adiquate room for cooling and fans. He states it was easy to put together as well.

Not for a DX10 card. Both ATi and nVidia have said that there will be heightened power requirements for their DX10 cards. You will need at least an 850 to run future products wit a DX10 card.

And SLi now does NOT require 700+W. I have 2x 7950GT's running on a 650

Sorry, but I ment DX10 SLi.

I still think that 700 watts will be plenty. The last I read off Anandtech was that the G80 currently takes up about 300 watts under full power. 400 for the rest of the computer is plenty unless you have 4 HD's + other preferials (ex: sound/dvd).

EDIT: I just found this website. It calculates how much power you need as long as your amperage is adquate. Hes fine, his current configuration only requires ~200watts (w/o GPU). I cant imagine a single DX10 card taking up more than 500 watts.

700 is huge. That's for people with tons of HDs. The markings that vid cards say are just extra high to make sure they can't be sued or whatever for having markigns below what some user managed to screw up.

A 7800GT(which I am using) is taking up easily under 200 watts. And if anything, future technology should become more power efficient.

mobo - GREAT! I have an older version of that mobo *without the wifi tho* and trust me, you will not be dissappointed.

processor - gogogogogogogogog *a newbish StarCraft saying before games*. I wish I could get that processor, but im too poor >.<; college sucks away any money that you have made up to that point.

Hd - are you getting 1 or 2 *or more?* the asus mobos have great raid support.

Ram - Good ram, I have a pair of sticks that are the same model. They are great. *I also have 2 sticks of 512 mb ram of the same brand, work good.*

psu - eh, I'm not thrilled about it. only 1 fan, not good looking. Since youre getting a case with an open side, you want the inside to stand out and say "I f*ed your mother, sister, and grandma last night and I plan to go back for more b*ch!" I'm also not too thrilled about the $150 price tag. I might sound like a broken record but here http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E1681715202 6. That will stand out and compliment your case, and for 50 dollars less.

dvd burner - it burns, its black, its good.

*hands Kim a crowbar*
Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

never sacrifice looks for quality, especially not in a powersupply. Raidmax isnt know to make quality products.

Chance the mouse from a G7 to a G5.

A G5 is cheaper,and better.

Just look at the reviews.

And...i got one my self :)
