If any of you don't understand this, I will explain. In the books, the authors do a good job of describing firefights and such. Usually, it tells of how the Cheif lays waste to the Covies. It seems to me that if the books were in game form, the difficuly would be from Normal to Heroic. Anyone else have any ideas?

Holy crap. I was thinking the exact same thing earlier this morning. But the description under legendary goes well with the book. However, on 343 Guillty Spark, he gets a shotgun right at the beginning, and that's on easy in the game.

Yah, I see your point. I just thought that it might be Normal or Heroic because of how easily the Cheif can take on Elites with his Assault Rifle. On Legendary, the blue Elites can be easily taken out with the Rifle. The crimson Elites take a whole clip to eliminate.

I never knew about the Shottie right at the beginning in Easy. I first started the game from Normal, and I have never played Easy, exept for the time when I played with my cousin who had never played before. And we never played 343 Guilty Spark.

but who says it's at any difficulty? bungie just changed it around so you could play it better on the xbox... the plasma ar thingy is supposed to burn through mc's shields in 1 shot! (in the book)

Also in the books, it takes about two to three shots from a plasma weapon to take down the shields. On legendary, it takes about the same amount, sometimes.

Its kinda hard to tell cause of MC whoopin ass in the books, but because of how they describe his shield getting shot down so quickly I am thinking Legendary would fit.
I didnt even think about the Shotgun thing! Thats interesting..........
I think it is on heroic, thats my best guess.

You can only get the shotgun on Single Player as well, you can't get it on co-operative or any other difficulty level, even if it is in Single Player.

I think that it is at easy, becuase of the shotgun in 343GS. And, well, this eliminates legendary, he had 6 minutes to escape the POA (in legendary you have 5). And, I think that I figured out somewhere else that corresponded with easy, like the number of elites he fights or something. I'm not entirely sure though.

Not to mention that the books are a hell of a lot more violent than the game.

It has to be Legendary. Here is why.

First off we generally lose the ground battles unless Spartans are there or we have really good numbers. In Halo we don't and on Legendary, we lose without the Chief.

Second. The Zeal of the Grunts. In the books they were badass. On any difficulty lower than Legendary, they suck.

Also the damage done by different weapons. In the books it says he does three round bursts alot. That works well against every opponent by in the books and in the game on leg. So that is accurate.

Four, the amount of damage a marine takes in the books and Legendary. Almost the same.

Five. Numbers. Books = Legendary...with some graphical exceptions.

Six....in the Flood while on the PoA it says , " Like an Elite's shields couldn't even withstand 50 MA5B bullets. " Well I tested this on Legendary...guess what? A Blue Elite takes 50 MA5B bullets to kill.

That is all the time I have for Legendary evidence.

Lol, that's such a lie, your a liar.

On topic, I think the books are on heroic, because I can do it on that setting, maybe some ledgendary mixed in, but mainly heroic.

True, the grunts are very zealous, when they have an Elite or Jackal around that is. It seems that the little guys can take quite a few rounds from the Rifle, where as in the books it says that the Chief uses three round bursts to take out the grunts. I am a good shot, and it always seems to take fifteen rounds to take them out.

Nice post Hikaru.

I think the books are on legendary. Maybe even harder than legendary because in First Strike those grunts in the slipspace generator room could have killed him. (I hope you know what I am talking about)

I mean that the three bursts catch the grunt in the head. It is most likely dead from the first, yet the other two rounds enter the head also. It would take only one accurate shot in the head to kill a grunt.
