Ah, look at the lonely people...

Yeah, I'm having a problem with the .NET/nav bar at the top of my screen. It's showing this:

Yeah, if you're too lazy to click the link, it's not showing the Gamertag and Friends count next to the usual "Welcome WhiteRaven119!".

It just started doing this a day or two ago, and I've no idea why.

My gamertag is linked, because I can see my stats and my avatar is my Halo 2 emblem. Is this happening to anyone else? Did I miss an announcement on this going away or something?

Someone help, please.

I sometimes get that as well for the first few pages after I log in.

Eventually, as I click links, navigate and connect to various servers, the linked information (gamertag, friends icon and PM's) shows up.

Your's doesn't resolve ever?

Nope. It's stayed this way ever since it started yesterday afternoon, no matter what I do. Someone send me a PM to see if that jolts it back into shape, it's all I can think of. :/

Thanks, recieved, and the PM marker showed up right next to "Welcome WhiteRaven119!" such as it should have if my gamertag was unlinked, which it's not. Picture of this:

Is it a problem with the gamertag linking? Because, other this with the nav bar, the gamertag/Bungie.net stuff is working fine.

I'm gonna try clearing my cache/cookies and logging back in. *shrug* Nope, that didn't work, either.

well, this used to work in the old-days, but I don't know if it is still valid.

If possible, create a new temp MS Passport and link your gamertag to it. Sign onto Bungie with your old (and now non-linked) Passport. Then, log off of Bungie, re-link your tag back to your "real" Passport, and log back in.

It used to help people in the past, but since XBL went gamercards, I suspect that it's not as easy to do as it once was.

Sounds risky, with the amount of hoops I had to jump through to get my 'tag linked to this account instead of the one I used on Xbox.com.

I suppose the logical next step would to be to PM Achronos asking for attention to this thread. Or, he'll see it on his own. *shrug*

Edit: HAY! All of a sudden, it's working! I have absolutely no idea why, but it's working. I'm both confused and pleased.

Gamertag link information is loaded using a link to Xbox Live that we have. It is then cached on our server. When this cache expires, the system checks to see if your gamertag is still linked. It is likely that when your gamertag needed to be refreshed, Xbox Live decided to not give us correct information on your link status. This wouldn't affect your emblem unless you tried to set it (as in, switched to an avatar, then switched back - it wouldn't let you switch back). It would also likely make the "My Stats" button non-functional, although you could still manually look up your stats.

However, as you can see, such "delinkings" are temporary and the system picks up the correct value when it checks your link again. Ah, the joys of being reliant on an external system for a primary function. :)

Heh, thanks, Achronos and everyone else for the help.

Maybe you should run the xbox live servers. you would get more credit.
