With the announcement of 1080p from MS at TGS... and there pretty much no chance of getting a decent "next-gen" title running in 1080p anytime soon..

..there must have been some discussion of releasing Halo1 or perhaps even Halo2 in 1080p on the 360.

Halo1 is small enough to put up on XBLM in 1080p. Either the full game or seperate Sp/Mp download options.

Imagine it.. Halo1.. XBL.. 1080p.. Bungie Rep +++++++++

Nothing like pumping up the old faithfull Bungie fans by releasing Halo1 with updated XBL play right before Halo3 launch.

Im not talking about Upscaling 720p or 1080i. Im talking about the fact that there will be no decent games coming out at Native 1080p for some time on any Next-gen console it at all.

So the obvious thing to do is release old classics that will run in 1080p... Halo being an obvious choice..

Im sure Bungie could spare time or even hand it off to someone else to get XBL working for H1... not having to change any net code. Leading > Auto-Aim where you cant hit anymore more than half a level away unless the auto-aim catches the bullets. With leading you can hit anyone anywhere.

Halo1 is easilly small enough to have as a Download. Multiplayer is less than 300 megg in size.

As for a release of Halo1 on XBL being a distraction.. bungie need something just like that to show old fans that they actually care what people think. Look at Halo2.. 1 update.

Could they have done less to show that they care ?

Bungie need something before Halo3 to get there reputaion back up to where it was before Halo2.. releasing Halo1 with online play its the obvious choice.

Im sure there is a small group who can update it for Bungie.

Hmm.. Halo2 in 1080p. Thats going to be AMAZING.

But id still rather Halo1 in 480i on XBL then Halo2 in 1080p.

Theres always the possibility there throwing Halo1 on Halo3... I wonder who would be torn between the two.

Guess it would depend on H3 MP.

This is what I'm talking about. Why would you not go for the "sure thing" You know that the community would support the upgrade of H1 to XBL and 480i or 1080p....IMHO,H2 at higher resolution is nice, but H1 on XBL is what is missing from the Halo line-up. I don't understand "Micro$oft" logic. Can someone explain the downside to releasing H1 on XBL? Please? Especially this X-mas...why not plan for the release this year with ZERO Halo products being released?

B a n a n a s

Recon was nice about it, explaining it in a great fasion

But can we let this die? Bungie has stated there are no plans for Halo 1 for XBl (they said it last i can remember, before the end of summer)

A post on the forum isnt going ot get bungie to say OK LETS GO!! Its just goign to create confusion and ridiculous arguments between users...

Actually, I'm thinking the more people that tell Bungie they want Halo 1 on XBL, the more likely it is to happen.

I'm not going to "hold my breath", but I'd really like to see it happen.
