Halo3Planet, the place for all things Halo 3..

What you said about the people have to deal with the bad choices, that isn't fair. Because there would probably be more than one gametype being voted on at one time, the final numbers could look like: 30%, 25%, 20%, 25%. Then the 70% of the people who didn't vote for the one that won would be stuck with a gametype the MAJORITY didn't want to play. Also, it wouldn't be too hard for 30% of the people to vote for a gametype, "because it is funny".

They should have a better system withing matchmaking itself. Optimatch is not sufficent. Bungie does not listen to its users in there. Clearly the majority of users want SWAT ranked, but does Bungie act? No. I am afraid that a new system would be useless since Bungie would not listen to its fans there either.

I think KSI is trying to become another Pillage Plunder. In fact, is that you Pillage?

In that case, KSI, it would work. But, I still don't think that enough users would vote on the site to give Bungie accurate results as to what the people want. If players were all required to take the poll somehow, then it would be a marvelous addition to Halo 2 on Xbox Live.

The only issue is that we couldnt require people to vote, because not everyone has a computer, and there would be a few problems with creating accounts...etc. I do however think that if bungie gave out the link ALOT, and made it clear that the votes would have an effect, that people would show. I would expect a 60% voter turnout, which is a pretty big number, and this being the case, it would also stop any small minority groups from having a disproportionate vote.

Brief side note, gt, we are having an intelligent discussion, if you want to insult people, and cause problems go to the flood, we dont need any ignorance in here.

Hypocrit.

I've seen the Bungie website advertised in matchmaking, but people don't go to it. Also, are you suggesting that the entire matchmaking options are changed each time Bungie finishes a poll? Because I really think it would be better if the community voted on maybe five things to go in tow or three spots each time.

I began to read this thread because I honestly believed the actual premise of the convorsation was valid, and perhaps some honest opinions of mods, members, and employees would be revealed. Upon reaching the second page or so, I realized this KSI character really is blowing things out of proportion, and contradicting himself to a point where other people have to straighten him out. Sorry, bud.

As for the actual topic, I want to make one point; although Matchmaking is (and will forever be) under Bungie's sole control, there should be some enhanced version of an Optimatch Forum-esque implement on XBL, allowing gamers to have a VOICE, but not a vote. My thinking behind this is that more people spend time on XBL than on BNET, and you will recieve a better appropriation of opinions from the people who actually play the damn game, and not fanboi essays and flame-wars.

Let the staff at Bungie decide, if your so smart and think you can do better, then go and make a game. This is thier idea not ours, we just have the privilegde in being able to play such an incredible game and be part of a fantastic universe.

Be grateful and enjoy what you get
