"A cat will blink when struck with a hammer." -George Carlin

It has more than eight weapons! plus it made so many innovations in FPSs like only being able to hold 2 weapons at once, being able to drive vehicles, and having a super-deep, compelling story. Halo is more than a game. It is the future... *bum bum bum*

Are you high? You don't know hSit about the story uFcktard. No one does. You don't know how many guns there are. Bungie has only revealed a few. I dub thee mossrock the AssCrack. i hope it sticks.

goes in the Library, way to read the forum subtitles... well, th inside levels were repetitive because either 1) some levels are the same as earlier ones, or 2) you are judging the game to harshly... if you're "right, once you cut through the hype." why did you give it a 9.0? 9.0 is the score of a very good games... many very deserving games dont get a 9.0... i think you're in denial...

Notice that this is refering to Halo: CE not Halo 2. If it was Halo 2, he would have been banned, and we would have killed him.

1) Sorry about not putting it in the library. I didn't quite get the different forums and whatnot—it's been a while since I've posted.

2) 9.0/10.0 does indeed signify an excellent game, so I'm saying that the MP carries it that far—it's great multiplayer.

3) Alright, fanboy, stop trying to curse at me with misspelled words so as to avoid the Bungie filters.

4) I don't suppose there is any way to move this forum over to the Library?

5) Yes, it did come up with "Hold only two guns at once." But that advent isn't entirely "realistic." Come on, let me hold a pistol, that one charge-up alien gun, and a rifle (you could holster it on your back).

6) The storyline is decent. Okay it's good. But look at Goldeneye the game—that had absolutely no storyline, and yet has the best single player in FPS history (nope, sorry, Halo's single player is lame). Granted, it had the movie to fill in the storyline, but that's not why it was fun.

7) True, they did bring along vehicles—but guess what, there were tanks in Goldeneye, so it wasn't entirely original.

Does anybody else think the singleplayer mode of Halo was really crappy? If that's all Bungie would have included, Halo would be just an above-average FPS. Like, all the levels are repetitive, there are only like 5 or 6 different kinds of guys, and only like 8 guns max (I don't feel like counting). The game is ultra-linear, and although the level design for the outside levels is good, the inside levels are all identical, with the same purple hallways between larger, purple rooms. My Halo score: 9.0/10.0.

You know I'm right, once you cut through the hype.

Here's to a good single player experience in Halo 2!

"That one charge up gun" is the fuel rod cannon, and it is HEAVY!!! For goodness sakes, they'll flip a worthog with you in it!

(Unless you meant P.P., then nevermind).

Those people who think Halo's single player wasn't good, simply need to turn the Difficulty up...I've never played a game that was such a better experience the HARDER it got...it's a lot more intense, a much bigger battle, the enemies are waay smarter (and in some cases replaced by more powerful units you never see in the other difficulties). I really do suggest turning the difficulty up, for anyone who thinks the SP wasn't that good. If that doesn't work, than there's no way you even like SP FPS's outside of Half-Life and Doom 3...b/c there all bottomless pits of SP experiences after these 3 games (Halo, Half-Life and Doom).

If you had ever read the books, you would know that Halo has a splendid storyline. I love the SP campaign mode, and if you don't, I guess that's your opinion.Like the saying goes "Opinions are like assh.les, everyone got one." How long have you owned Halo? How many times have you beaten Halo? Have you beaten Halo on all difficulties? My point is Halo is a very big, and very challenging game. The AI for the enemy is also spectacular. I love getting in firefights with elites, or a group of grunts, there is nothing like it on any other fps, or any other game for that matter. Halos' SP stands alone my friend, and that is just the way it is.

about the repetitvenessnessosity, do you think REAL buildings are all diff. in each room NO WAY why the hell would the forerunners design each hallway and room differently they are designing holding facilities and war related things, they aren't interior designers, besides you could get lost too.

You obviously play only console games. I know that for console gamers, Goldeneye may have seemed like the ultimate gaming experience, but please realize that there are many PC and Mac FPS games that are far superior to Goldeneye. 3 of those games were made by the company that just happens to own this web site (Marathon had the option of mouse-look back in 93 people). While Doom pales in comparison to the greatness of Marathon, it had a much larger influence on gaming than Goldeneye ever did. And Half-Life has been voted by fans, gaming magazines, and just about everyone else as the greatest game on any system. Ever.

I don't make this stuff up, I am merely repeating facts. So please, when you discuss the greatness of Goldeneye, remeber to classify it as "console greatness."

To get back on topic, Halo has a great story. While it may or may not hold a candle to the stories of other Bungie games (depending on how much of an oldskool Bungie fan you are), it has long been the tradition of Bungie to make a game with a great backstory, where many facts are obscured, or only revealed in the importance of later events. A great story is one of the factors that set Bungie games appart from other games, and Halo is no different.

i may not agree with your opinion on halo's greatness, but it is your opinion and you are entitled to have it. the game may not appear to have a great storyline but it really has a great and powerful storyline. if you are interested in learning more about the story, you can do one of two things.

1.) go to your local bookstore and pick up the box set of the books.

2.) msg me and simply ask me to tell you the story. i have read all the books and have carefully stored this knowlege in my brain as if it will get me a good job in the future (it won't)

that being said, there is a good reason why many things appear repetitive. time. bungie had to put halo out in a hurry and the best way to do that is repeating maps. it is the same reason why the tank only shows up in Assault on the Control Room, thay wanted it to be in the game more, but they didn't have the time.

p.s. were you just saying this stuff for shock appeal? ,:-/
