Osmosis!

You know how one of the main rules in The Classifieds is to not reply to topics? Like you're supposed to leave them empty? Well wouldn't it be a lot easier if the new topics were automatically locked? This could also save moderator time, and page space, seeing as the replies and last post columns wouldn't be needed

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

Well in most threads you're not supposed to reply, but if there is a thread advertising a tournament...you kinda have to be able to reply to sign-up for the tournament.

Now that you've taken the time to look at my sig, I actually regret not providing you with something more worthwhile.

Well you could use a PM, but I am sure it would be easier for the Management side of the Tournament to just use a thread, rather than having to sort through 100+ PM's...

If someone isn't willing to go through the hassle of setting it up, they really shouldn't be putting on a tournament, now should they? Exceptions don't need to be made, cuz it would just cause more headaches for the mods.

Well you're right there...but I still think it would be more "efficient" *cough* to host it in the thread.

I often though about that, as a matter of fact. I say, when posting, to PM me. Or one of the overlords in the group if they are interested.

Narwhallace Smithington: Gone, but not forgotten. Never approve of anything lil guy. <3
Furious George: The new -blam!-

I don't think Auto-Locking threads would require much code, but then again, I'm not the webmaster. Only a handful of people know the kind of code it would take to autolock threads in one forum.

All the person advertising the tournament needs to do is make a group dedicated to that tournament. Make the group open so anyone can join, and then let people post in that group.

Simple.
