so how will the duel weild gun work on pc without the xbox 360 controller?

easy it would just say press "E" to pick up another weapon. Or a smart thing to do is that bungie would have all of the keyboard icons in and when you change the keyboard icon it will show up like that on your screen when it asks you if you want to dual weild.

sry for double post but...

I will be one of the people who makes maps when this game comes out.

Also, BUNGIE: Please this time make a map tool, and no not guerilla or sapien. Make an actual map maker like Hammer Editor or something like vavle/ steam uses. It is alot easier that way. Please save us the agony!

Also if the server is hosting a custom map. Please make it so we can download it direcly off of the server we are trying to get into and not have to exit Halo and go download it and put it in our map folder. I will quote what I just said: Please save us the agony!

no No NO NO! en-oh; N O !

I have used Sapien and Guerilla and I can say that creating a so called "Map Maker" would do more harm than good. Heck, even as I type, I have both of them open working on my map. I also recall from a past H2V update that they explicitly said that they are making Guerilla and Sapien more stable. Personally I do not want to see any "rocket-box" maps that were created in 10 minuts by a 12 year old shrieker, with absolutely no creativity at all spamming up the community.

Also if the server is hosting a custom map. Please make it so we can download it direcly off of the server we are trying to get into and not have to exit Halo and go download it and put it in our map folder.

Also a big no NO! Do you not know the size of these files? The halo ce maps are anywhere between 20 megs unpacked all the way up to over 100 megs *the largest one that I have is downflow at 120 megs*. Now think about what people would do? Go into a server without the map and start downloading this huge map that may take quite a long time to download due to it's size and their internet speed.

SO, in conclusion I shoot down both of your so called "ideas" with a definate NO!

Well, the primary and secondary are mapped usualy to the right and left mouse buttons respectively. You can change that if you wish in the settings when it comes out.

Ols Swedish Gunners

Please make it much more responsive than H2 on the xbox and add a little bit of speed! MC moves to slow imo...

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

Rocking Bungie.net for over 8 years!

60fps at 1920 x1200 is all fine and dandy, but what the hell are you running to get that? c'mon, i need to know.

Also, will Halo 2 Vista scale beautifully to support multi-threaded or multicore CPUs (like Core 2 Quadro) and insane SLI/ crossfire setups?

i think you will find that they have already said that we will be using HEK. (tool, guerilla and sapien) i don't know why people had trouble with it, it worked fine for me but i did download kornmans vierson of it that unlocked most of the stuff. I really hope they don't block all the stuff this time.

i did not mind going to a website to download the maps then putting it in my map folder because on the website it shows screenshots of the map and talks a little about it.

Nice, now back to HAL0 3!

O for the love of god there are two teams at bungie. (maybe more i don't know any other games they are working on) One of the teams is working on halo 3 while the other is working on halo 2 vista. grrrrrrrrrrrr!

K now that is out of my system, anyone seen the new screenshots? i can't seem to find any new ones.

i know what guerrilla and Sapien are. But the versions I had were crap. But I mean if you like doing things the hard way go right ahead you noob.

But for the guy who said they want to go to the website and download it. YOUR A NOOB. The thing is it is a lot quicker if it direcly download it from the server.

Sounds cool! Too bad I qon't have a windows vista computer for quite a while... *sigh*. I think the ability to make custom maps is gonna make H2 Vista a really big hit. >_<

Well clearly you don't, guerilla and sapien are the tools bungie use to make halo them self there is no easyer way. The verisons we got from gearboxsoftware had most of it functions locked so we could not do much, thats why it was hard to use.

As for the download in my experience i find it better downloading from websites because when i have used a system to download it from the server it seems slower and you don't know anythink about the map your downloading but from its name. Also I was thinking of the server, not every computer can run a halo server then have 15 people downloading all at once from it. It's not that hard to download a file and unzip it into your map folder so if i was you i would think before you start calling people names. Have you ever played CS:S? i have waited ages just to download a box map that just takes up space on my hard drive.

*bashes in Sargent's head with Vista stick*

so, you are calling Bungie "Noobs"? HOW DARE YOU! Are you that vile of a person that you bite the hand of the people who bring us these games? Do you mock them for creating their own tools and letting us use them? *in abit lesser quality due to gearbox*

Trust me if we are such "Noobs", then does that make greater than 99% of the halo ce community "Noobs"? Are we that -blam!-ing stupid to blunder about the web finding good maps and downloading them? Are we "Noobs" for not complaning and whining about every -blam!- g--blam!-ed thing that we hate?!?

Let me download about 500 megs worth of map files from your computer and let us see how you function with me downloading from YOUR computer, using up YOUR bandwith...

I hate people who come out of their hiding places from New Mombasa and The Flood then cry, piss, and moan about whatever they see.

-un freaking believable blam!!!-
[/rant]

ANYWASE

I'm sure that the H2V group will give us a lot more stable and useful versions of tool, Sapien, and Guerilla to use on the maps we are going to create.

Matt Priestley, of the Halo 2 Vista team, checks in this week to let us know what's going down in his department. In his second developer diary he touches on the team's progress, how H2V was received in Barcelona and how some Vista-specific features are shaping up

KP, I was wondering if there were any plans at all to Bring the Original Halo CE: to windows Vista?

We have heard a lot about the advantages of playing on the computer, among which is the option to use a 360 controller instead of the mouse. I was wondering if the controler would still recieve vibrate related input from the computer or would it remain as stagnent as the mouse and keyboard. That is one of the reasons I find the controler superior. It provides yet another one of the player's senses with information.

What are you talking about? The version that's out there is what everyone has. Kornman worked on getting some of the advanced features unlocked, but those aren't critical to anything other than ui's and single player. If you consider it hard, then you are simply what you call others.

You ideas are bad and un smart. Stick to consoles where you aren't required to think.

I work for the Department of Defense.

Hmm... Sounds awsome, though i dont think i'll be getting Vista... I just hope that the "Dedicated/User-created maps" are a technology used in Halo 3 on the 360.

Or ima cap a -blam!-.

I repeat. If it can be done for H2V, Then to it for H360 (Please?)

Halo 2 map sizes range from 25MB (backwash-esque) to 50 (Terminal)

Ivory tower is 45,123 KB
foundation is 36,718KB

No maps are above the 60 MB cap, I belive.

Halo PC has a patch that will allow it to run on Vista. You can get it on the Halo Downloads section on microsoft.com

Those are the maps that come with halo 2. The maps that I were talking about are user created maps. The difference is that the user created maps are naturally larger than the bungie maps. They typically contain custom things, which have to be included within the map itself. The bungie maps on the other hand are lesser in size because some of the recources are shared, like vehicles, werapons, and sometimes textures. When H2PC maps come out, I can almost guarentee that they will be larger in size due to user created things.

Just a comparison, the largest halo multiplayer map created by bungie/gearbox is just under 18 megs.

About halo 3 having user created content... User created maps could be a possibility, but I highly doubt that. I also doubt that there will be dedicated servers that a person could host.

Also dark mod, I don't know if you know this; but Halo pc *custom edition actually* has the ability to create user created maps. So as a comparison, why did bungie not have a person natively able to create maps for Halo 2?
