I'd have to say I love the beginning of Silent Catographer (sp?) and especially the part in Assault on the Control Room when you re-enter the tunnel system after getting the tank and an awesome floor tom beat comes in. Anyone else have a favorite moment that kept them playing the same level over again?

well, the suspense builds up the moment when you see the flood in h1, with the camera feed and all, but in h2, first when you see the flood, your not master chief, and second, you knew it was going to happen, and third, you have backup. so it pretty much ruins the moment

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

The seond Level on Halo.

Its the level where you get most involved with the marines and the environment.

And The ATOCR when you first go outside and the huge battle between Marines and Covies is taking place.

The Maw warthog run on Legendary.

Meeting Hunters for the first time ("Oh my god it won't die!!!").

Meeting Flood for the first time ("Holy crap what are THOSE?!??!??").

There are so many amazing memories of playing Halo I could write about it all day. The storyline. The characters. The gameplay. Absolutely sublime.

Two Betrayals is my favourite level, possibly from any game, due to the Flood versus the Covenant battles that you run into during the course of the level.

343 Guilty spark, when I first saw the Flood.

The damn things would die, but they wouldn't stay dead.
Two betrayals was genius, that huge climactic battle between the Flood and Covenant when you're stuck in the middle.

Actually, in Halo 2, I didn't even think of laughing, because they bored me to tears. Honestly, though, Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone was just so dry. And backtracking on High Charity was just like a cheap attempt to recreate the Two Betrayals feel. Except the Two Betrayals was epic.

Firstly H1 the 1st flood level scared me -blam!-less, then the warthog run was prettie hectic (both done really well; WELL DONE BUNGIE!!!)

Secondly: I hate to say it H1 had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more back tracking than H2, when you think about you kind of wonder why?

Thirdly: H2 flood levels were soooooo boring, the only interesting bit was when they could use vehicles, and when they came to high charity.

They have a large barge with a radio antenna on it, where they charge up and discharge.

There were a plethora of memorable moments in the first game. They would range from heart-pounding adrenaline rushes to mind-blowing revelations and plot twists.

- The first time the player gets to drive the Warthog.
-The first time the player takes on a Hunter.
-The first time the player storms the Cartographer beach, Marine reinforcements in hand.
-The first time the player gets an idea of the scope of the "Assault on the Control Room" level.
-The Scorpion Tank.
-The first time the player sees the video feed of Private Jenkins and does battle with The Flood for the first time.
-The moment where 343 Guilty Spark reveals that Halo, this artifact of massive scale that the Master Chief has been fighting so valiantly to seize control of, wipes the galaxy clean of sentient life in order to exterminate The Flood (wow, Bungie, wow).
-The mad rush to return to Pillar of Autumn.
-The death of Foehammer.
-The final escape-countdown sequence of "The Maw". What a rush.
-The Ending.

So, yeah, I think that sums it up fairly well. Not perfectly, because Halo still manages to be a thrillride, even over a half-decade after its initial release.

Now that's gaming magic.

Hmmm Halo2 doesnt have as many "WOW!" moments as Halo1. It is good, but the single player is nothing more than "good". Halo1 is sublime.

Same thing for me. The Library always got my heart pumping. Halo 2's campaign just kinda sucked in general.(IMO)

i definately enjoyed the Maw. just all of the chaos of being stuck in between the flood, coveneant and sentinals was an awesome feeling.

well, i only appreciated the medium-to-large scale maps. dont get me wrong, i still love the maw, but it felt pretty linear. in AotCR, you could just fly for minutes in a banshee. TB was even better, because if you hadnt fought any body, you could just go back to the battles with flood and covenant and just watch them. im all for sweet, linear levels, but not boring linear levels, much like keyes
