You know a game is amazing when it gives you real world feelings. Like vertigo. The big drop at the end of the Maw run gave me serious vertigo especially with the musical backdrop.

My favorite part is in 343 Guilty Spark where you go into the complex and the flood show up. The first time I played that level there was the crazy tense feeling in my body.

Favorite moment is when you find out Keyes is one of "them" (WHY?!?!?!)! Besides... that big blob he was in, could it be Gravemind? Just a thought... Best moment (to me). I would also say that Halo not being a weapon was quite a shocker and the fact that the Two Betrayals level with the HUGE Covenant camp near the end was amazing (but annoyingly and frustratingly hard!!!!).

"why the heck wont this stupid thing die!!!???" i said to a hunter.
it took me like 5 hours of replaying the same checkpoint trying to kill the hunter...running out of grenades so i ran back and got some more than threw it. BUT 7 hours after trying 2 kill a hunter i almost gave up...until i got a pistal on the ground next to a dead marine on truth and reconsiliation and said," mgiht as well try this"...i shot it in the back and it died...i was the most happyest person in the world that moment. and the next day i told my buds how 2 kill hunters and they called me the "hero" at the time 4 figuring out hot 2 kil them...and i was like 13 at the time so i couldnt really figure out wtf the orange stuff was on them lol

I have too many favorite moments to choose just one. But I can remember my *first* favmo, the one that had me returning to the first checkpoint and playing it over and over:

I'm a sniper by temperment. The first time I started T&R, I didn't want to go past the first scene for the longest time. 64 rounds and a pitful of unsusecting targets!
I wanted to pop every single one of the Covies down in that pit before any of them knew I was there.

I got so fed up with the marines rushing in before I was finished that I finally began working out the most effective way to kill them off quietly before I started on the Covies. Now I have it down to a science: I kill off the marines before I take out more than 2 Covies and then I work it so I take out everything that started in the pit and everything that runs into sight on the other side of the pit, and finish with at least 60 sniper rounds in reserve.

After the second group of marines in AotCR coming through the tunnel in a 'hog and using the shade like a ramp to launch the vehicle (performing a triple barrel roll) clear over the wraith below.

I loved the whole escape from the pillar of autumn thing in a warthog on the maw.

343 GS gave a few memorable moments, like the transmission being sent out from the downed Pelican. The recording states how they met hostile enemies, but were not Covenant.

There's also that part in GS where you can see an Elite combat form on the other side of log bridge you have to cross to get to the structure.

There's also the Jenkins video and encountering the Flood.

Two Betrayals was so epic, I'd always watch the battles between the Covies and the Flood. It was such a great level.

The warthog run at the end of Maw was propably my most favorite moment in the game, what a great ending that was. That long jump during the run was crazy too, it felt like I was actually there. So intense.

There are many more moments, but those would be my top favorites.

I like playing the end of 343 GS when you meet those marines and you battle the Flood with them, so awesome! And the part at the middle of the level where there is a room and like 3 marines come in and attack the Flood, I actually saved 1 marine.

Every single Grunt cry for mercy

"AHHHHHHH!"
"He's everywhere!"
My favorite: "No don't hurt me! I have wife and kid!"

i liked the ending also, but the best time was when i first played the game, back in '02. i was at a friends house and we were on The Maw on co-op and the warthog flipped. me and my friend fell out but he quickly got back in and said "forget you!" and drove off. i had to walk. dont hitchhike

On the second bridge in Two Betrayels. So much combat was going on with the Flood, banshee and Covenant that my Xbox started to lag. =)

Beating the Maw on Legendary and getting to see that cutscene with Sgt. Johnson and the elite.

  • 12.12.2006 9:01 AM PDT

when the census came around, for religion I put Bungie.

I'd have to say the part when you walk into the building in 343 Guilty Spark and when you first relize that you cant just shoot a hunter in the front or in the head you have to get behind the hunter and shoot its back.
