Once a SPARTAN, always a SPARTAN

I was born in a Covenent Cruser 15 years ago.
My father shot down banshees for a living.

Life is like a blind grunt and a bag of plasma grenades

Halo, Halo 2. These are just games. Games that have been very successful in the video game industry. It has shown a good experience in gaming. There are good players and bad players. Young and old. Girl and boy. These people have been introduced to the technology of the new age and have seen how far interactive entertainment can go.

The game HALO was a lunch title of the xbox system in November 5, 2001. It became one of the best lunch titles of the history and gaming. For three years, HALO has been a game that many people have tried there skills at. Whether they have the game and play it 8 hours a day, or go over someone's house to play. No matter what, HALO has always been in there mind.

Almost a year after HALO came out, readers, editors, and Magazine writers were invited to see Bungie’s new game, HALO 2. They were amazed at the graphics and cinematic quality they had seen. And there was the birth of anticipation for HALO 2.

May 13, 2003, E3. There was a demo being shown of the single player missions in HALO 2. Many were excited and could not believe what they saw. Duel-weilding, car jacking, graphics, enemies, and great AI.
People were already getting pumped for what they could play. And then a year later, another demo was shown. Multiplayer. After a year even more people were fascinated and the improvements. The wait was going to be long and the public got there release date. November 9.

These next weeks are tough and people will be getting amped. There is already talk about what SP could be like and talk about clans starting. There is way to much going on. On forums, many have been creating stories and thoughts of what HALO 2 is about. There have been a big obsession on this. I see people saying “HALO 2 is a way of life.” This shocks me. I can’t see HALO 2 or HALO being a way of life. It’s just a game. JUST A GAME.

I earlier wrote a small speech about what kind of obsession is going around. It was how people are reacting to the way HALO 2 is getting to their head and making them forget about WAY more important things in life. School is one of the important things. The only way to get a good job is to learn how to do it and school helps with that. People will play HALO and HALO 2 when they really could be using that time to study. Jobs them selves are important. If you want to make money and keep food on the table, then you must keep working, not playing.

Obsession is one of the big things that are coming out of HALO 2. “There are more important things in life than a simple game.” quote me. You have to keep up with your life then waste it in a basement or something playing a simple game. If people want to accomplish a great goal, then do it without getting sucked in to a game. HALO 2 has been sticking to us and will forever. But have you ever thought of what would happen if HALO 2 could be bad? We have anticipated to much. Think about it.

If the halo games weren't such a big deal, then why are you obsessing on others obsesions? And you know, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy....

*says as she flips hair and looks at the lovely paint job on her toe nails*
In my opinion playing games, like halo, give a person special skills and problem solving knowledge. Also, in letting one be totally immersed into a game can enhance ones imagination. There are many positive points in playing halo or any game for that matter. As for the part where you doubt if halo 2 will be any good I think you have nothing to worry about because it is bungie and they will make everything gorgeous.

Now who could argue with that? and survive? *grin*

Agreed. The hair-flipping especially is quite deadly. Could take a man's...head off with that maneuver.

Whoa........
Haha anyways, I agree that getting obsessed over video games and things of the sort is not a good thing. What I think is a very effective solution is setting a limit on how much you play. I set a limit to one hour a day. That way I can solcailize, study, and get outside and excersize.

If you make video games for a living then its reasonable to play as many video games as possible, to get a taste of everything and get a good idea of concepts. Also, you will have to spend alot of time testing, making, and playing your game. You could hire people for a really big project, like Halo 2, but even then if I was in on making Halo 2 I would play it a whole bunch!

the only reason u see obsesion here is becasue we show it here because this is the place to show it!! duh the whole point on this site is the obsession of halo1 and 2. Other times while not on bungie or any other halo related things were doing the things in life. happy? Halo is also just a form of entertainment and how dou think we have the comp andinternet. IF i didnt do the important things in life i wouldnt be typing this.

We're not obsessed, we're just right!! Besides, you acted the same way when Mattel released a launch date for the new barbies.
