How do you make the little arrow things? Like ">", "<", "^" with the arrow filled in?

And is there something somewhere that tells you how to do all of those things?

I think if you go to the character map you'll find the characters you're looking for. Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map.

Oh, you have to use the number-pad, not the number row, turn on Num-lock and use the number pad.
