Tycho on the PS3 launch: "Well, you have not succeeded, not at anything laudable. You've kept young people in out in the elements for days through your ineptitude, this is true, but that is worth negapoints - a reverse scoring method exclusively for jackasses that starts at zero, and actually goes down from there."

They won't tell you much about Halo 3 because they promised us so much in Halo 2 and whala: halo2sucks.com
They won't let that happen again.

The updates are about Bungie and not it's games.

No.

Just because they're not allowed to tell us anything about Halo 3 (yet), doesn't mean the updates aren't enjoyable. I, personally, look forward to the update, even though I know there's a low chance of anything Halo 3 being within it.

In response to your title question...um no.

...but the main reason for the updates is to tell the public about the upcoming project...

They call it the Bungie update for a reason...the reason being that it gets you up to date on all things Bungie.

Just a thought...

And here's an additional thought. Bungie. They make games. I dont know if you realize that. The fact of the matter is if Bungie doesn't make games no one reads that update. And if it hadnt made Halo the number of people interested in it would be significantly lower. So whats the point of providing updates that are either A) completely lacking in relevant information or B) not on time because they are working. On those games you know.

If the update was meant to be about Halo 2, it'd be called the Halo 3 Weekly Update. ;)

...ok...I'm...I'm still with ya'...(?)

I want to disagree but your probably right...

...can you really call Bungie an "it"? Just asking.

B) not on time because they are working. On those games you know.

Right...so you want Bungie to spend less time working on the games? And you want them to spend more time writing updates about the games...the games which as of now (in your world), they are spending less time working on? Correct? I don't know how you did it...but you managed to drag us all into some sort of paradox?

Ruben's final thought(s)...

If you don't like the updates, don't read them.

I think if you had of made this thread a poll...the results would be un-doubtly in favour of keeping the updates.

(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

No.

KP was suppose to get an update to post from Frankie. He was kind enoguh to post why this weekend. If you don't like the lack of news then you can be damned for all I care. Its a Bungie weekly update, its not a Halo 3 weekly update.

Oh, before you click that, "Discuss this story" link, know that this is the Bungie Weekly Update. Not the Halo 3 Weekly Update. When and if it becomes that, the title will change. Until then, this update serves to inform you as to the goings on of Bungie staff. Granted, Halo 3 takes up most of our time - Youtube links taking up the remainder - but there's no guarantee that we'll ever touch on it in an update (as I didn't with this one). You've been warned, so don't post that this update sucks because it had no Halo 3 info. It sucks for far more legitimate reasons and you know it. - KP

What's so hard about understanding that?

No you managed to drag us into your self styled stupidity masquerading as a sense of humor. I said that if the reason the updates were sporadic at best and lacking anything interesting at worst, then perhaps itd be best for Bungie to just update less frequently or do away with them so that they could spend more time in finishing the project that everyone reading the update is waiting to hear about. Thats repeated for the third time. Perhaps its the charm for you. And yes you use the "it" to describe a company. Dont jump too far ahead of yourself though. Now you go back and watch your back to back episodes of "Cops'.

People are HIRED to do these updates. I don't think they should be gotten rid of.

Isnt "whats interesting" of a very personal nature?? I find most of the updates interesting, is there a correct and a incorrect opinion and if so whats mine? Like some one already stated, its not a halo 3 update. Its up to each individual whether they want to read it or not, the topic is usually a good sign of whats to come so its not that time consuming if thats what this is about. And if theres not that much info theres usually a couple of laughs which makes it worth it.

Rant, I, along with loads of other people you've labeled "fanboys", love to hear about the weekly happenings with the Bungie staff and/or Frankie's mother.

What else would be like Cortana5 and I do without them? Get lives? Sheesh.

No - the WWU has been an amazing institution here for years.

However I wouldn't cringe if it were changed to every fortnight or even monthly.

I liked the update. I found it funny. I don't care about Halo 3 info.

So why should it be done away with? Because other people are expecting news on Halo 3 and aren't getting it?

You can tell the frustration in KP's post:

Oh, before you click that, "Discuss this story" link, know that this is the Bungie Weekly Update. Not the Halo 3 Weekly Update. When and if it becomes that, the title will change. Until then, this update serves to inform you as to the goings on of Bungie staff. You've been warned, so don't post that this update sucks because it had no Halo 3 info. It sucks for far more legitimate reasons and you know it.

And I think it came from a certain thread in the Halo 3 Forum asking why the update isn't about Halo 3. It was explained again and again that Bungie is secretive, but the Thread Creator and a handful of others wouldn't accept that. Thus it became a massive flamefest, and I assume the ensuing result was KP's update, with that last paragraph.

Now I'm not playing fanboi, as I too would like a little more Halo 3 info, but come on guys. Let them do their thing. I came to realize that the updates aren't about Halo 3 a while ago, and if they don't want to release anything, then they're not going to.

What I think should happen is there should be more interation with Frankie and Sketch. I really don't see them post, and I thought that was their jobs, or at least it seemed that way. Sketch is still around, but it seems like he's more interested in the HBO community.

Maybe it's because of the lack of appreciation here? I don't know. But that's what some are saying. I say there's plenty of appreciation on this site, as well as criticism. But lets just have faith in Bungie, and keep our eyes on Halo 3.

And you would hemmorage vital fluids if it didnt appear every single week?

Pfft, heck yes. I'd die.

Actually, I wouldn't mind tons, but I honestly love it weekly. It's something I can always look forward to. Seriously. Monthly would just be too long.

I vote for weekly, still.

**See original thread post, too long to fully quote**
You don't think they want to tell us some things?

Frankie and KP have the whole community shouting and screaming at them for not giving away info, these are the same people that complain about Bungie releasing too much for Halo 2, mind you.

Maybe we will be lucky enough to have Mr. Clean himself or KPaul come in here and tell us what's what. I see no need, however.

As stated before, they aren't allowed to. For crying out loud, ease off of these guys! The don't even have to do it you know.

No, simply because even if there isn't much info in the update, and it isnt much of a "update," its still something. I'd much rather have the company do something rather than have the front page completely silent for weeks at a time.

I have faith that Frankie will one day actually give us something like the Halo 2 updates

Yes it was rushed. But at 4 am just off of a 45 hours work day what do you expect?

Trust me when I say that people have had to stop KP from sneaking stuff into the update.

They give us as much information as they are allowed to. I'm sure they want to let out all the "OMG THIS IS SO COOL" stuff as much as we want to hear it.
