There are 15-20 million xbox owners and almost half if not that, own Halo. Not one PS2 game has come close to that percentage, yet many games have outsold Halo because there are about 80 million owners out there.
Good golly, are you ever wrong.
You are correct that there are roughly 15-20 million XBoxes sold globably at this time. However, Halo has only recently passed the 4 million sales mark.
This means that, to date, Halo has only sold about a third of what Final Fantasy X sold globally. In fact, Final Fantasy X sold half of what Halo's total sales are- in two days. That's a number no percentage can touch.
While you're hoping that percentages are the name of the game, it's not. Microsoft could use percentages only to cover for the fact that there are still three to four times as many ps2's as there are XBoxes. However, they can't use the percentages to defend the XBox's decline in countries in America. Nor could they use it to honestly say "this game did better" than a blockbuster PS2 title which sells an order of magnitude higher than the XBox game in question. It simply doesn't work that way. Percentages are used to decieve, but revenue is where it matters.
