Why do you doubt it, me15ter?
Dude, I would love to buy a Collector's Edition. I'd pre-order that crap, have it made out of platinum, have my name embossed in the front in gold, and my name engraved on the back, and have the manual, the DVD, and the case itself signed by the H2V team and Frank O' Connor.
One answer: Halo 2 Collector's Edition for XBOX.
I must agree with me15ter on this one. From an economic stand point I don't know if there is enough hype built up around this to provide enough worth to spend more time to create something people might not buy. However, if demand towards the release is great enough than producers stand to make marginal revenues by producing extra goods. However, in the case that there is not enough demand than they waste money, time, and capital on making something no one bought. What then? They are left with a bunch of nice cases that not enough pepople were willing to buy and then they have to lower the price to sell them and lose money.
Plus as me15ter said with the previous release of the edition for the Xbox there is a possibilty that someone who already owns that will see no reason in buying the collector's edition for H2V. They are thinking well I bought this and I enjoy Halo2 so why the hell would I buy another for the PC?
It would make it look more appealing though and it will be a nice addition to your halo collection though. It really all depends on how much demand is created for this game and how much time and money the company is willing to spend.
I might have missed some parts but I think I hit the basic outline here. If I'm off somewhere someone jump in, I obviously don't have all the answers.
