"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

Well I was sitting around earlier; just thinking as I tend to do. And I happened to stumble upon an idea that Bungie.net users could benefit from. Here is my idea:

Whenever browsing through a topic, you always see "Reply" and "Msg User", well what if there was a way to include a "Quote" button. This button would simply quote the user that you click the button on and then take you to a reply with the quote. Thus you could quote a user from a certain page of a thread, or someone who is in the upper portion of the discussion. It would be easier than going through the BB Code way of manually doing it, although I don't mind doing things by hand.

I understand that this isn't a real necessity, but I think it would be something nice to have. Just to make browsing a bit easier. However, I understand that there is a downside to this proposed feature and that would be massive spamming or abuse of the button. The only way I can think of to counter that is to:

A) Let the moderators do the work, as usual with most problems
B) Integrate some kind of "Spam Filter" with the button

Please leave feedback, constructive as always, and disucss.

I'd like that for times when my internet slows to a crawl and I don't want to reload the quote screen.

Sounds good.

I'd like to be able to quote someone when PM'ing them from a certain post.

Instead I have to do the workaround of "replying", then quoting, then copying, then cancel, and then PM and paste.

I hear you on that one...although it is a matter of "Eh, I want to be lazy but I have to kinda do it," I still think a feature like this would be highly valuable.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Ah, you mean the instant quote. Like on PHPBB. I like that system too. Though I'm not too enthusiastic about it. I'm pretty lazy, but not so lazy that I can't follow the quote tutorial that Recon just put forth. If you can convince on of the gold texters to implement it, I'll give you a very pretty merit badge to sew onto your crimson sash Zee.

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

Seems like a good Idea to me, I mean, I would use it...
