Hey, does anyone know how to fix the problem, where your text in Halo PC, (such as death messages and player messages) appears and dissapears at seemingly random moments? I miss out on loads of conversation that way..

Apparently, someone told me it's when you alt-tab out, but I didn't do it at all during that session of running Halo PC...

Any fixes for this? I'm a pretty social person on PC games, and it's something I need, or I feel like a jerk.

Go to My Computer.

Go to Local Disk C.

Go to Program Files.

Go to Microsoft Games.

Go to Halo.

Find and start the application named "mxsmlenu" (I'm pretty sure that's the name), which will install and replace any corrupt files and help solve your text lag problem.

Hope this helps.

I think your experiencing text lag because its coming back and is intermittent. If the text is not showing at all, the msxmlenu will certainly fix it.

And just what have you been smoking? Of course that works, it's even included in the Microsoft Halo Support site as the fix for disappearing text.

Text lag and disappearing text are caused by the same corrupted files and the mxsmlenu fix works for both problems. I've had both problems many times in the past and that is how I fixed them.

ive never tried smoking.

Good for you... It is an expression, as I'm sure you already know...

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

if you do minimize go look in you c/program files/microsoftgames/halo folder and look around for an ap called mslxmenu or something like that run it, select repair, and after its done just maximize and the tet should be fine. if ur text is acting up then just run that program. it doesnt fix it permanently but i fixes it.
