first of all, i only play h1 because h2 burns a picture in my screen even though it is a CRT tv, not plasma.

To play or not to play....

Halo CE works a treat on the 360 but Halo 2 single player doesn't. Halo 2 multiplayer works fine on the 360 but the single player will often (always) ghost an image that will not go away. It makes the game near impossible to play. A ghosted image appears over the top of everything else. It completely ruins the game experience.

Ummm yeah and my 360 works fine as I have NO problems with other games. I have had people blame my CD drive, Halo 2 CD, my 360 and even father Christmas for this problem. However this problem is unique to Halo 2 and I am not the only one experiencing it (as you can see withi this very thread).

My guess is that this problem is something to do with the emulation in the 360.

When Halo 2 is working on the 360 I find the graphics look a bit funny sometimes as the surfaces seem to be kind of grainy or sparkles or some weird kind of look to them. It looks strange. Generally it all looks good but if you look closely you can see what I mean.

Halo 2 works fine on my original X-Box. For some reason multiplayer works fine on the 360 but not single player Halo 2. The graphic do look ok in multiplayer Halo 2 on my 360 so the problem is a bit weird to say the least.

There is a slight graphic improvement, as there are less jaggies for both games. However, the severe downside to playing Halo or Halo 2 on the Xbox 360 by causing severe dips in framerate in maps like Backwash, or when you're playing Rockslide Megabattle and when several dozen Covenant are moving around, thinking, manuevering, shooting, throwing grenades, the framerate gets pretty low. I think it's because of emulation issues.

Havent played Halo 2 on the 360, but H1 has some framerate problems and the controler is just bad. When playing on XBC the last thing you need is more of a framerate drop or any extra lag.

Ya halo2 Campaign has a problem with the ghost image and one time it happened in the multiplayer. But i ignore it.

I disagree. I think the controller is quite superior to the original Duke or the S controllers. It's ergonomically built, it's smooth, it's aesthetic, and I don't mind the bumper buttons so much. It's setting the standard for wireless controllers.

I play on the 360.

Sadly, my Halo 2 screen will burn in the image of what I'm playing sometimes.

They both have much better picture, but the voice on Halo 2 live is a bit off.

Also, Halo: Combat Evolved looks better on the 360, but in LANs some times it loses a few frames, but not enough to cause any problems, and some of the more busy co-op missions lag a bit.

I have not had any burn in on my TV (CRT) while playing Halo 2 on the 360. I don't really notice any great improvement in the graphics but then again my TV is only 480p so I don't get to fully enjoy the capabilities of the 360. As for Halo CE I have also noted some frame rate issues but none with H2.

Anybody else get an error when updating with the Halo 2 multiplayer map pack? I did the update, and added the first thing of maps, but the next two error out. I have 10 gigs left on my harddrive, so I assume its not a matter of space... Anyone know about this? And this is for the 360.

MeArbiter, don't bump threads or double post. We're not obliged to answer you, and you need to be patient. This forum isn't too active, so you'll have to wait until you get a decent answer.

Anyways, it's not too significant of an issue. If you've got the money and you don't have the original Xbox, go get the premium pack.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

I think it's the reason my 360 burned out too soon...more processing power used on emulation software?

It is simple...

Play Xbox games on the Xbox.

Play Xbox 360 games on the 360.

Playing Xbox games on your 360 will be using emulation on the Xbox it will be direct hardware and what the game was designed for. You probably will not notice much graphics improvement anyway. If anything I find Halo 2 looks worse on the 360 as the close up detail is a bit fuzzy/sparkly.
