So, I guess that the topic in itself is quite clear, isn't it ;) ?

Personally, I would love it, although I know that it would be hard as hell to do it effectively since there are so many factors to be considered.

It damn well better have some form of Co-op. This was probably the single biggest disappointment about Halo PC.

That's because over any game, it's nigh impossible to make the AI sync perfectly over the internetz.

Dude, what about bots in Counterstrike? Those work well, don't they?

Anyway, I would really, really like a co-op version online, but to be honest, I doubt it will happen.

Maw

I would like to see a co-op in H2V, but I'm sure it will be very laggy.

Hell yes it should...

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

I think it would be fun, but with the lag, it would probably crash, so I doubt it would work.

Oh! But it's ON VISTA! IT MUST WORK BECAUSE IT IS MICROSOFTS NEW TECHNOLOGY! Oh yes! </sarcasm>

Good point.

stop spamming ddr...

online coop may, or may not be possible. depends on that netcode...

thinking about it, it would be more of a possibility since h2 has synched dynamic objects *ie stuff in zansibar 'really bad spelling'.*

In high definition baby!

I'm scared the AIs might make it lag.

Online Co-op has been hacked for halo2 xbox, so i don't see why it wont be modded in (depending on the netcode), or programmed in by default.

@Above Post: That's not true - no one has been able to hack in online co-op. Halo2 on xbox in its current form does not have most of the needed code in it, like cutscene syncing.

Halo 2 already has code to sync AI with the basics - there's nothing in there to sync special animations and dialogue lines though, but that couldn't be too hard for Bungie to add in if they focus on it.

Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

It would be cool, but I think it would be quite hard to pull off.

Bots are run from the server, notice that the bots run best on dedicated servers. So, if you feel like using a dedicated server to play online campaign, sure. have fun with that.

AI code is just the weeniest little bit more complex than simple physics, Omnios. Of course, this could be combatted by running the AI script from Player 1's machine and simply having the AI on P2's machine 'run on rails', and have P2 himself 'run on rails' on P1's machine, so the AI interact with P2 as well as P1.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

;)

Unreal Tournament, Onslaught and Assault gametypes.

Marathon, a Bungie game from the antideluvian 28.8k dial up days for frack's sake!

There is NO EXCUSE for not having Co-op in Halo 2 vista. None. At the very least it should be LANable.
