I feel your pain people, I am dying to know what cool new features My Xbox has to offer. It's like Christmas, and the present is from Microsoft... but the USPS truck is late. Very late.
However, so many people across the web are taking this far too seriously. I am frustrated that the maintanance is still ongoing, a whole day or more beyond what MS said it would. But you guys need to shape up. Unforseen technical difficulties can come up, and it probably doesn't help that everyone and their mother (or parole officer) is trying to use xbl all at once. I also don't feel anyone deserves any kind of compensation. E and his staff are working overtime to get the update done, give the dedicated people some slack! If anything they deserve our gratitude for sticking with it. Just becuase you immature addicts can't live without playing Halo 2 for 48 hours is not reason enough to demand a refund of any kind. Get a grip, I'm tired of seeing flack like this all over the place. Hopefully they are correct this time and tonight it will go back online. If not, well, I'm sure they have a legit reason. I sympathise with you, believe me, but give E a break. Go play Campaign for a change, it won't kill you. I'll be spending this night getting some offline Gamerscore. ;-)
Well, I feel most humbled. I was discussing this event right about the time it (XBL) was supposed to be back on. I believe you'll find me around page 6 and 14. Anyway, I'm not to familiar with the technical stuff, so I can't make any qualified remarks on the staff's account. I can say, for certain, that not EVERYBODY is taking this to seriously. I mean, many people find these forums the most socially engaging activity available to them (XBL not included).
While I feel sorry for those poor souls, it gives many a great oppurtunity to remark on things unrelated to the actual status of the network itself. I mean, on page 6, there is a serious discussion going on (in my humble opinion) about the social impacts of games on children / adolescents. There is also later a debate of the correct pronounciation of a drug called Kine Bud (NOT so serious ^_^). There are also various other social impacts of these forums, which I won't bother to list.
The point is that these forums can be beneficial, despite the actual content of the literature being expressed. Serious or not, they are a social interaction that allows venting of stress, which normally would have been done on XBL. *_*
Besides, it really doesn't concern you what they do, does it? If it does, please let me know.
