Wouldn't it be cool if there were multiplayer maps that were miles long with entire armies and whole squadrons of fighters, covenant and human. Just ignoring all the major lagg for now.

Man, that would be "da bomb!" (Please excuse my use of poor grammar) this is somewhat the basic idea that Bungie is trying to do over xbox live, so you never know. Personally, I would love it if they recreated the part in the book Halo: The Fall of Reach where the grunts charged enmass. A kind of survival challange or in the campaign... :-D

They've all ready said that some of the Campaign levels are "five times larger than AoTCR," so it's probably not out of the realm of possibility....

I might be a bit off topic here, as I was thinking more along the lines of single player but I was/am hoping to see a huge battle, where the sides are cleary drawn. Meaning, hundreds of Marines and ODSTS on one side of a field (or what have you) fighting a huge force of Covenants on the other (ignoring the amount of lag and framerate droppage). While Warthogs are cruising around in the distance and running over Elites, and the Covenant responding with Ghosts. I don't know, a battle of epic proportions. Like the beginning of the Silent Cartographer only exponentially larger in numbers. Forget how technically impossible it may be and just imagine how awesome it'd be.

Haha, pardon the wording, and seemingly incoherent thoughts - i'm a bit out of it.

Not so much off topic as extending the scope of it.

I can see that kind of scene being played out in a cutscene as opposed to in-game, but reading some of the older updates, it's not necessarily out of the question for an in-game scene.

Well in that case I sure hope they have a checkpoint save feature on co-operative (as in you can turn off your xbox and come back to it too) for Halo 2 or it would be one hell of an endurance test to get through that one... But Id be up for it.
