Does anyone know anything about the Multiplayer settings? Are we going to be able to turn off the "oversheild" and or "Active Camoflage?" And what about timable grenades? Are we going to beable to time the detonation or is it going to be chuck and blow?

I haven't heard anything solid yet about the settings and the ability to change up what is or isn't involved in the MP games.
A bunch of us were discussing similar ideas (destructible vehicles and rocket-launcher tracking) and whether those new features would be optional in MP. The thread is "Combat devolved: a little poll..." It's over on page 2 right now.

I'm not saying your post isn't valid, by the way. Just similar to another one that may interest you.

I'm guessing Bungie will allow quite a bit of optional features in MP, but I doubt there'll be timed grenades. Then again, with approximately five months left for development (that sixth month will likely be used to produce the millions of copies of the game for sale), anything could happen.

I'd agree to that. I think the chances of the the host being able to determine whether or not power-ups exist on a board are pretty good. That is, assuming power-ups make it into the game.

As far as the ability to 'time' grenades, no offense, but I hope not. =\

I have heard that you can up grade your armour in multiplayer, but hey it came from a kid in my school i am suppoded to believe him??

What he might have meant is, you can color your armor and put symbols on the shoulders (maybe other parts, too?). Check out the most recent screenshots for details.
"Upgrading" implies making your armor more powerful, which, with the possible exception of power-ups (overshield, invisibility), would have to apply to everyone playing to keep the game balanced.
Balance is a huge issue, seeing how the game will be on XBL.
