I have been searching for this for a couple of weeks now, and have decided to reach out to The Maw for help. What I awnt to do is run Halo in a window. I need to do this because there are other things I keep tabs on while playing, and must minimize when I need to check them, causing the whole text problem.

I once found the answer to this question, but I no longer remember the answer. I looked in the Stickies, the FAQ's, the last three pages of this forum and found not a whisper.

There is something I must add to the target string of Halo's shortcut to do this, but I do not remember it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

put -window at the end of the target line.
One more, would this go before or after
-console?

I have never had problems when minimizing Halo, the only thing I do different is use the Windows button instead of Alt+Tab and (god forbid) Alt+F4

It's not really recommended to run Halo (or any game) in a window for the following reasons:

* Windows XP just isn't too smart when it comes to managing memory for games when run in windows. Unless you got a ton of RAM like I do, you may want to keep that screen filled.

--And--

* The desktop is not synched with the monitor. This means that you will experience tearing even if you enable vsync or 30 FPS in the video setup.

Maw

Something like this might help the memory problem; its a memory manager. It might be worth downloading.

(I look like a mod)
