XBC lags more than PC.

Become good, learn how to deal with the lag.

I'll pass and stay offline if it is always this ridiculous, it is almost totally non-skill based.

Lol, it would take a whole lot less skill without the lag, it would be far too easy to shoot people in the head. Now only good players can do it.

Quite the contrary, Vohod. Compensating for your lag takes a considerable amount of skill. You see, it's due to the netcode which makes it so laggy, which makes you have to lead your shots. Trust me, there are lots of better games than Halo, which don't require you to lead. But I think if you give it a shot, you'll like it.

Wouldn't it be possible for Bungie to make a patch or update that fixes the netcode?

The chances of that happening are about as good as you licking your own elbow.

So close!...and yet, so far.

But that's the problem; we shouldn't have to comprehend with the sometimes insane lag to the point where we call it "skill" when we lead our shots a mile away to actually hit a target two feet away from us. I mean, you even have to lead to melee, for God sakes.

If anything, H2V will require leading once more, but hopefully they will fix the netcode this time around.

So close!...and yet, so far.
Sad, but true. Bungie rarely talks about HPC at all any more. I think the only HCE mod highlight I've ever seen them take notice was the HMT single player conversion, and that wasn't even front page.

To thread creator: I'd say go for both Halo PC and Halo 1 on XBC if you can. They're both quite different, and both of them are fun. Halo 1 on XBC is really hard to get used to though. And while I will admit that Halo PC LAN is way too easy, there is a line between an appropriate, skillful amount of leading, and a rediculous amount. Say, for example, you had to lead the equivalent of 10,000ms ping on Halo PC, that wouldn't be skill, because it wouldn't really involve predicting where that opponent really is according to the server and precisely putting the reticle there. Instead, it would involve lucky guessing.

I, for one, think that Halo Xbox LAN has the perfect balance: a small amount of lead and a controller to make it more difficult.
