Subject: What happened to that Covenant dropship?

At the end of the level Truth and Reconciliation, the humans steal a Covenant dropship. Whatever happened to it?

P.S. I've seen a rocket launcher on 343 Guilty Spark level, is there a link to a vid of how you can get it?

I like Halo.

About the dropship... I don't know, that's an interesting question... maybe, since in 343 Guilty Spark, you start the level off looking for Captain Keyes, who was driving that dropship, it's the one that's crashed on that level....

And about the rocket launcher, I've never heard of that on 343 GS, but I know it's possible to carry over weapons, or start with strange weapons on certain levels.... For instance, when my friend and I play coop, he (on bottom screen) starts out with shotgun on Library about 1 out of 7 times we play, and it's ONLY bottom screen. But maybe something like that is happening with 343 GS, he might have carried the rocket launcher over to that level from AotCR.

The dropship that Keyes brought was the Human one. Keyes and the Chief got out of the human one. Maybe the humans just left it to rot, or kept using it, maybe it blew up? I dunno....

no, its a hidden weapon. I've heard of it and it's even on the Halo CE demo if you wait for co-op. But in the Library, the bottom player always has a shotgun instead os AR.

The rocket launcher in 343 guilty spark appeared in the Halo menu demo, along with several other things not in the game, uncluding a banshee on the silect cartographer. The demos were made before Halo was finished (In some the glyphs on the radar are still green instead of yellow), so these may be things that were removed later, or were simply never intended and Bungie just messing around. The shotgun thing on the library has something to do with the difficulty setting, I think you only get it on easy.

They probably just left it at the command shuttle (or Alpha Base, I think it's called in the trailer).

Read the Books.

Trololol

SK33T and DELETE

Have you read the Flood? The humans, at the very end of the book, try to use it to escape Halo, but the purposely crash it into Truth and Reconsiliation.

  • 10.16.2006 9:50 AM PDT

Really? The one I read said they used only human dropships, and only to board the dnaged thing. But a few people say that the rocket on 343 GS is in a secret area someplace....I dunno where.

They didn't crash it into the Truth and Reconciliation, Mckay dropped a Grenade down to the power Conduit, which resulted in an engine failure and it crashed back on Halo. (and exploded...)

The Rocket launcher on 343 is only in the PC version. (I think.)

The Shotgun (instead of an AR) is to mix up the players uses. Like, you know...a "Team"... It'd be pretty tactically stupid for you to have the same equipment.

The rocket is definitely not there... don't look or it'll end up like the golden warthog. The rocket was probably at the crashed pelican when it was in the game. Another interesting thing in the demos is one part on the Silent Cartographer, where the player throws a frag which kills two jackals... as soon as it explodes a value with a large decimal place pops up on the motion tracker. Maybe thats trigonometry?

For the Bandit they hi jacked from truth and reconciliation, they probably destroyed it, seeing as how they destroy everything they steal from the covenant.

good points from everyone. I'm betting that they used it to make an ambush or something.

i know wat happened to the dropship
an army of grunts overthrew the "Alpha Base" single....er... multi-handedly and stole the dropship and save Johnson from the flood.... back at the grunts base Johnson fell in love with a steath elite named "Joe"...... from that point on, Joe and Johnson fought the flood all the way up to the level, "The Maw", where Joe's Plamsa Rifle ran out of battery and was forced to betray Johnson and steal his assault rifle from him. They faught until they both fell out of the Pillar of Autumn and wrestled over the assault rife. Jhonson and Joe heard the explosions coming from the Pillar of Autumn so they hugged knowing that this was there last moments of life and that true love would prevail.....few seconds afterwards, Jhonson bolted to the last pelican leaving Joe stunned.....
Johnson lived...
Joe was screwed...
Moral of the story:
Never eat pie on a hot tuesday evening.
^ wow i went overboard
what were we talkingabout agian?

What is the real name for the drop ship then? The marines called it a bandit on level 2. Apparition was a made up name from serious halo fans.

I don't think they actually had a name. Marines just called the dropships, and so did everything else(cortana, Keyes, etc.). It was called a bandit to signal that it was there, just like bogeys, etc.

I am...whimsical today.

I took 'bandit' to be just a slang term for an enemy target, much like 'tango' or 'bogey'.

They just use it over and over. It says so in Halo: The Flood.

I suppose that it was taken in for study by the humans for study after Keye's rescue.

Is the dropship really called the bandit then? then again, Halo CE didn't really care about the dropships and the wraiths.

Looks like the dropship is in the 343 spartan level, but I though the dropship was used by the flood, just like in the halo graphic novel.
