Couldn't this horrible incident been avoided? I mean a company like this should be able to control a BEST GAME OF THE YEAR title don't you think?

I'm assuming that you are talking about the pirating business. It was out of their hands, thats like saying some shop keeper should be able to keep all the cash in his drawer, but there is always going to be those sneeky bastards that take what isn't theirs.

Wat not if he keeps the drawer closed. duh!! But that means no halo 2 info for us, but thats still better for people not to know about it. don't you think? just wait for the release date and have total surprise!

people are jerks and some people are jerks that steal. Saying it is Bungie's fault is like blaming you if someone stole your car even though you locked your doors and turned on your alarm.

im not really saying it is Bungie's fault all im saying is they could've prevented it. I mean comon if your going to release one of the biggest games on the planet than get some security or something. Not saying that they didn't but something better. Did Halo get pirated before it came out?

this was NOT Bungie's fault. no matter what ya do to keep something secret some sneeky jerks will try to screw it up. just look at GTA: SA, Rockstar is pissed all because it was a popular game and some losers wanted to get it for themselves and ruin the whole damn thing.

ok im gonna explain and settle this -blam!-.. i imagine that for a game to be mass produced it goes to the factory that has machines which enable such an event. but people need to operate these machines and these people are known as workers.. yes WORKERS.. obviously some french tard worker stole a copy of the game and now it becomes pirated. now tell me how the -blam!- you can stop it from happening? make sure theres a security guard handcuffed to each worker? get real for a second bro and use the old grey matter. every game gets pirated, hell all software gets pirated and so the world turns. end of story

It's happens all the time.......Halflife 2,Halo2,Doom3 and GTA San Andreas all have either had source code stolen or the game itself jacked!I heard somewhere they caught the clown who stole the Halflife 2 source code and they will probably catch the losers who stole Halo 2 and GTA SA.

Theres no sense crying about especially since Halo 2 is less then 20 days away.I hope when they do catch whoever is responsible they prosecute them and they get the Maximum penalty!

Hear! Hear! But I do question the security at the plant where it was stolen (i assume thats what happened, correct me if im wrong). wouldnt there be inventory counts or some method to keep track of who is working on what? or how many copies are produced?

BUt then could someone get a copie of H2 without a disk? Or something. If they took the disks out of the boxes there must be empty boxes... i think...?

THANK YOU!!! Finally, someone explains it to the bluetards. Halo 2 is nothing like the other leaks, because the other leaks were partial builds stolen from their respective company's computers. Somebody stole a copy from the huge manufacturing plant, which Bungie has no ties to.

Bungie didn't allow this, a person theat knows only greed stole it. bungie porbably will find out who and probably sue them.... (what ever happened to our frind leaking H2 info....? the one that played it at a friends home?)

dude, bungie burns copies of Halo and hands them out (not quite as casually as that sounds) to microsoft employees so they can test them... security? so you want a bouncer at every person's house and/or xbox who play it? There is this thing called over the internet Alpha testing and, yea, a bouncer for the thousands (i think it was) of microsoft employees who tested it? that would get kinda expensive... Shishka is right... you have no idea what your talking about...

I have yet to see an article where it said the a French guy did it. It could have been in the U.S. and a worker at the DVD factory took the French version.
Plus, even if it was a French guy, that doesn't mean that all the French are bad. Go on XBConnect and you'll find jerks from the U.S. pirated it too.

Guys. lets be serious here. It's usually hackers that hack into the companies systems and steal the code for it. It's to hard to just go into a factory and steal it. I meen its been done before. but it's easier for some computer nerd halcker l;oser to just hack into bungies code and get it working.

Here we go with the nOObing again. *sigh*

Yes, someone at the factory stole a copy. I think this is clear now. Why werent there counts of the inventory? Certainly they should be able to trace it back to whatever shift was responsible and then question the workers. I will PAY for my AMERICAN copy on the 9th and enjoy the special metal caseing to boot.

*thumbs his nose at French people in general*

the thing is that every sucker that downloads halo2! is a loser
but there all complaining about the game endings bla bla!
i think that the guy who stole it just messed with the files.
so actually maybe the leaked version is a build or a non finished game!

at least i trust bungie with whole my hart!
and have to wait till nov 11 on my preorder sp edition!

Its not bungies fault some stupid little person who is obsesed with hacking and costing companys grief made a pirated versoin of Halo 2. If he wants to do that he better watch out he will be hunted down by Bungie.net mebers and found and sued by bungie for pirateing a game. It would really be bad if halp 2 didnt get the game of the year award becuase of this incident.
