We've heard the term but don't exactly know what it is. If you play custom Halo PC or Halo CE levels, when an AI kills you, the game calls it a "Guardian." This is all well and good, but in Frankie's "Bungie's Guide to Swords" 10/18/04, he mentions the word again. What is he talking about? Here is the exact text:
"If you're dodging, dodge left or right. A locked-on player can miss if you sidestep at just the right time. Be careful too, when lunging, since foolish dives forward can take you over the edge of a precipice. And you don't want to yell some stabby smack-talk seconds before the Guardians kill you..."
Is he suggesting that there will be bots in a certain part of a level there solely for the purpose of killing anyone who ventures (or falls) down there?
Was Bungie lying in the Q&A and there actually are bots?
Is Frankie just trying to have a little fun with the piranha-like fanbase that gobbles up every bovine of info that wanders into the stream of public discourse?
Maybe the Guardians allude to something in the single player game (Forerunner?)...who knows.
h@1o - Go easy on me, this is my first post. I don't do the forum thing too often.
PS- GAH, New Mombasa Halo 2 forum link didn't load last time, so I thought this was Halo 1 and 2 forum...
