Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.
Teach a man religion, and he will starve to death praying for a fish.

I was playing a game of Halo 2 earlier today, and people kept getting mad whenever I would use BXB or BXR etc. Then it hit me - will there be any kind of combos like BXR for Halo 2 Vista?

They get mad because you are cheating.

I don't know, I guess it is one of the wait and see deals. I personally don't think it's cheating but just exploiting part of the game.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

nah they will definitly try to keep the bxr cheat out of the game. They want to make the game less noobish the xbox version.

You know I half expect you to run up the "stupid brother" argument, but ah well.

Anyone can superjump, that's called cheating. Anyone can download mods and play online, that's still cheating.

I'll explain for Halo 2...
BXR or any other button combination that involves the interruption or cancelliation of animation is defined as cheating in the XBOX LIVE Terms of Use that you sign when you establish your account on XBOX LIVE; it violates the part that states that any exploitation of a bug to use as an advantage, is cheating; therefore, it's not allowed in Matchmaking in Halo 2 talking about the skill required to do it is irreleant-why? because Bungie said so and they make the rules because umm...they like made the game, perhaps? It's not cheating in customs games because YOU deside what goes on there.

In Halo CE there is a double bash, infinate ammo, backpack reloading, reloading and throwing gernade simulatenously glitches. These are not considered cheating online since no1 really has established that they are and Bungie hasn't stated directly anywhere about them on Halo for the PC. IMO, they are fine, but I'm not Bungie.

Ah, but you must understand, Shadow. There are drawbacks to using a double melee, such as the dangers of collateral damage you face when you throw a grenade. What's the disadvantage of using a BXR in Halo 2? About.. nothing.

And how the hell can you get infinite ammo? I know it's possible, but it's quite impractical as if you move to a different loading zone you will cease having infinite ammo (I believe). And you sure as hell can't use it in multiplayer. Wtf?

The only glitch that I think has nearly no drawback is the pocket reloading glitch. Even then, it can be a double edged sword if you don't time it right in the heat of battle.

Calm down....I wasn't asserting any points that using glitches are great and that they have no drawbacks; that wasn't my intention, instead, it was to inform the thread creator what people where talking about and how it can relate to Halo on PC. I haven't tried doing the infinate ammo glitch in multiplayer as of yet but it works in campaign wherever you are.

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!? I AM CALM!! STFU AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!

J/k, if I was coming on a stressed tone I apologize. You raise a good point. Hopefully, they'll be able to disable the button glitches, as it would be way too easy to pull off a BXR or a RRX with a mouse and keyboard.

The only combo I can think of that isn't cheating is the AFK combo.

Sorry if I sound really ignorant, but I've never played Halo 2 before.

Q: What is BXR?

It's exactly what it says it is. It's when you hit the "B" button on the gamepad, which by default is to melee, and then followed by the "X" button which immediately cancels the melee animation followed by the "R" or right trigger.

When you run and melee somebody, it causes more damage than if you were standing still and meleeing. So, if you were to do a running melee to somebody followed by a shot to the head with a battle rifle, it would be enough to kill that player. A BXR is basically that, but fast forward it about to a 1/5th of a second. Due to its simplicity, it isn't too hard to learn, and turns most rifles into efficient close-quarters weapons.

I think there will be a BXR in H2V because HPC still has all the button glitches of Halo: CE (xbox). Remember people this is H2V not H2.5V.

That's not the best way to put it, Armageddon. It's still Halo 2.5, just like Halo PC is Halo 1.5, so yah. It was even mentioned in the Bungie Weekly Update.

Anyway, I do see your point. However, remember that Gearbox did Halo PC, not Bungie. This time hopefully Bungie will be able to fix these problems or at least in some way make it harder for people to do them.

No, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Pease search for "Is BXR Cheating" and find thousands of quotes from Mods, Staff, and N0F about why it is cheating. You might also want to check out the XBL ToS and the Halo 2 Matchmaking rules.

LOL! First off, I'm not sure if that's a typo you made, but it's called a BXR, not a XBR. Secondly, I just mentioned what BXR was in two paragraphs in my second-last post.

Also, regarding the BXR=cheat issue. It's not so much of a "cheat", as in a offense that will get you banned, but it is rather unsportsmanlike to players that don't use it. Bungie won't mind you if you report people who exploit glitches for cheating.
