MY LOVE FOR YOU IS LIKE A TRUCK...

There is a reason I am user ID 1 and my account creation date is before this site came online.

I assume that since today is Oct. 17th and they announced that XBL would be down, that I wouldn't be able so see my XBL profile linked to my B.net profile and also that my Gamertag is also down.

Is this happening to everyone? Or did I finally get around to being BANT! for all those bald jokes I made of Frankie?

Since I cannot connect to my XBL profile/gamertag, will any progress in a XBL game that results in an achievement not be recorded to my gamertag?

Just a few questions that arose when I discovered this.

I don't have a 360, but I think achievement points will still be added (at least that's what my friend with 360 says.)

Xbox Live is down for 24 hours.

News story on the Front Page. More at 11.

Yes...I know...I already read it. Now if you could have actually answered my last question, your post would have been relevant.

Oh, whoops. Didn't see your last question, sorry :-)

My guess would be no. Last time this happened, the data was lost and didn't affect my stats.

Sorry...what I meant to say is my question regarding if I am playing a XBL game that has achievements, say Lego Star Wars II for example. And I beat a level that awards an achievement, but since I cannot connect to XBL, does this mean that the achievement does not get added to my Gamertag??? I'm just curious to get a definitive answer so I know whether or not I do something today in a game, I will have to go back and do over if I want to unlock the achievement

That's what I am curious about, since I already know that the other "problems" are caused by XBL being down for the day.

(Sorry bout the misunderstanding Iceman, no harm no foul.)

Yeah, Rant's right.

I found this just now:

Q: What the heck am I going to do for 24 hours if I can't troll the forums, pwn my rivals, download stuff on Marketplace, or video chat with my friends?

A: We're glad you asked. We hereby submit our Top Ten Things to Do on October 17 2006:

1. Boost your gamerscore. That's right, you can still earn achievements when you're offline. Your achievements will be uploaded to the Xbox Live service when it becomes available.

Looks like you can get that acheivement up, Berserker. What are waiting for, hop to it!

The only thing I am wondering is why Halo 2 avatars are still showing up...

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

i believe it's because it displays the last emblem that you used before you signed out. What i think the sytem does is it gets your emblem saves the file on the website. That's why on the FAQ about avatars it says you need to view your stats in order for your emblem to be updated. (i think it's because it consults xbox LIVE in order to update the emblem and untill then displays the last one you had.)

My avatar wasn't showing up last night, and now it is. Hmm...I dunno.
