You all wanna know a really funny thing?? 5 1/2 years ago when Windows XP was about to hit the shelves, people were reacting the same way to XP as people are reacting to Vista now. They all hated it, and swore that they would never, ever, ever buy it. And now XP is the standard operating system found in nearly ALL PCs. (i said NEARLY...so don't flame me over that if you still have Win98 in your cave PC)
The fact of the matter is, people, that you all say that you're totally opposed to Vista and won't buy it and there's no need for it...but you will buy it, and there is a need to get it. When Vista hits the shelves, Microsoft is ending all official support for XP. That means no security updates, no more patches. You'll be more vulnerable to viruses, and when you inevitably get a virus that XP can't block (But Vista can block!) and it thrashes your computer, you'll be forced to buy a new computer, and you WILL have to buy Vista. And besides that, most new games will either require Vista, or will be optimized for Vista and won't run as well on XP or lower.
I know it costs a lot, but it's worth it, and the price will go down soon after it hits. Stop resisting change and embrace it.
