a fourm finder would be great. it could be up at the top with my settings, and my profile
it could have the fourms you started and it could have something that will pop up when someone post something new in one that you have posted in. yea! that would be nice

How do we start forums?

You could also bookmark your topics that you created for reference later, such as when you're checking to see if someone has either replied or if a mod has locked it.

Or using the search function may help, too.

Here you go.

Click on this, and then bookmark it. You will now always have a page listing your posts.
Don't mention it.

Is it just me, or are people trying harder and harder to turn these forums into the xbox.com forums?

It shows what threads you have posted in. If you care so little about them that you cannot revisit them and need a system to tell you that there is a reply (which may or may not be directed at your post).... well, I would suggest another site that doesn't have the traffic of this one.

Because to make a notification system that notifies someone everytime a new post is made in a thread that they previously posted in..... the number of notifications would be astronomical.

Pick a thread with a couple of hundred posts. One person posts and that's a couple of hundred notifications going out. Someone else posts.... a couple of hundred plus one more.

It might work on less popular and less busy forums, but it would be an absolute and utter nightmare here.

The search that I showed you will allow you to find your recent posts (no matter where the thread has moved off to) and you can easily visit and check for new replies.

But the search only goes back so many posts. 999 i do believe is the max. That should give posts back a couple months if you don't post alot. But it won't show your very first one (unless you posted less then the max shown).

weird because xbox.com allows you to get emails if you get a response in a topic.

xbox.com is served using the same resources and database system that runs Xbox Live.

We do not have those kinds of resources.

I wouldn't like to get e-mails every time I got a response to a thread I made. That would be too many e-mails that annoy me.

Why not simply get notified of a reply within 2 days of your post? And/or outside a week? Or on the same/next page?

Um do you mean a search function? Like the one to the left of this page?

You mean at the right side of this page?

So, you have this thing against people correcting you publicly? She didn't say it in a disrespectful manner, and she didn't call you an idiot. You have no reason to respond so negatively to someone who's just trying to help.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

No its pretentious, unncessary and pompous. Like what you usually do. Go read the above post I made about making comments like this on the thread itself. Both your posts were unnecessary and could have easily been PM'ed instead. Instead you want to play Guardian ANgel and draw attention by placing it here. Good. Now you have attention. My attention. Its not a good thing to get. Dont respond to me here again. PM me if you want to work your fingers, then I can have the pleasure of letting you know what I really think without rthe restrictions of a filter. Have a nice day.

Wait- since when does the Almighty Rant get to tell someone what they can post? Get off your high horse. You're just like the rest of us. And don't you think you calling someone "pretentious, unncessary and pompous" is a case of the pot calling the kettle black? What good would a PM have done? If he was honestly looking for the search feature, shouldn't he know that it is indeed on the right side? You made a mistake and someone corrected you. Don't lose sleep over it.

The search feature should provide adequate service if you need to find your post. As long as your respond to the thread everyone in a while, you should have no problem keeping up with your posts. However, If you need some long archive for all of your posts, then bookmark them in a separate file in your browser. And remember xbox.com is a fortune 500 company, Bungie does not have resources near as extensive as the 300+ billion dollar Microsoft corporation. If responding to your posts means that much, then just keep up with it; everyday check to see if it was replied to. You should not rely on Bungie to remind you to revisit your posts.
