I do believe I didn't just say rewriting the netcode but the whole system that it uses as well (or, as you prefer the term, the engine).
But basically what the Silent Photographer is trying to say is that there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of even trying to fixing it unless they just rebuilt the game from the ground up. Let's hope Halo 2 doesn't follow the same path though, and to quote Cortana:
"If I had fingers they'd be crossed!"
Btw Zeph, is everyone from Gearbox/H2V.net also here?
Yesh, that is what I'm saying. The engine itself is designed for xboxes to communicate to one another directly with a LAN. One of the earliest landmarks passed for Halo 2 was the restructure of the engine to allow for higher latencies, WAN connections, and integration of XBL features. Where H1 was designed for LANs, Halo 2 treats LANs as a really fast WAN.
And I think a vast majority of them do. I've been here pwning reality into the typical ignorant neubs head. Resistance is strong, but it's not hard since it's simply reiterations of the truth. There are a few success cases around here, so it's not a total waste of my time.
>_>
also, I have another agenda that has me not mind being here.
