So, with both H2 Vista and Vista itself in the near future, my question is what are you guys going to choose to play with? Will you stick with the traditional mouse and keyboard or will you use an Xbox 360 controller? I know some people choose Xbox-style gamepads when playing just so it feels more at home, as if it were Xbox. I also know even more people will choose the 360 controller when it comes out so they feel like they're playing Xbox on their monitor. Duh Lord Gold.

Anyways, what will be your choice? Pros and cons of each?

So I'm also pretty much retarded because I just went back to the main board and saw a topic posted 20 minutes earlier on almost the same topic. You can completely shun me now if you want. =/

There are few things on Earth more frustrating then trying to play a FPS with a controller.

Not if you dumb it down to the point where if it was ported to the PC it would be frustrating.

He got you there, Iggwilv.

Dude, a mouse and keyboard is clearly superior to the gamepad in almost every way. I don't need to elaborate on this as it is clear why. The mouse and keyboard is more precise, offers more responsive controls, and is more flexible than a controller. Since most of us here are PC gamers, we're obviously going to use the mouse and keyboard.

M/K FTW!

I guess I'll use the controller. But I'll try it out first on the keyboard and mouse, since I don't have a USB controller yet.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

While playing with a controller isnt that hard(I use to -blam!- in h2 xbox), playing with the mouse and keyboard is vastly superior.

Nah, I havent played in a long while, maybe march or april. The game just got really boring to me. my gamertag is staticx57. I suppose Ill play a few just for the heck of it, though I am sure my skill has dropped off quite a bit.

Yah. After all, why would you play on a console when you've got a kickass PC that can play the greatest of PC games.

EXACTLY. I can't stand the Xbox noobs in my circle of friends that tell me over and over that Xbox is better than a PC in 928054298734 different ways. LAWL WUTEVRSz

I think it's time we stop all the "OMG CONSOLE > PC" and "ZOMG PC > CONSOLE" argument. Neither side is going to win, it's pointless. I personally think it's all preference. I prefer Halo Xbox, but I can understand why somebody would like Halo PC better. Might I point out, though, that on Xbox, you have different sensitivities of movement, which you don't have on PC. You can move slowly, quickly, or anywhere in between, which makes for a whole lot more variation in strafes. That won't be a feature with Halo 2 Vista, though, so I guess it's KB/M for me, since there probably won't be any reticle magnetism.

Mouse and keyboard pwns controllers.

Ive got a feeling that when people start using the controllers in H2V that they will be sorry when they run across someone decent with a M/K. Actually, I dont have a feeling. I know :P

You definitely have a point milkman, but I think overall K/M has a tad more precision. Plus K/M is just more 1337. xD

And that's quite interesting about the whole movement sensitivity, that's definitely going to put a damper on the gamepad users. Or who knows, maybe it'll increase their usage. I dunno. =$

I sometimes M/K, But I mostly use mouse and joystick. It gives you the advantages of the M/K and Xbox controler: You get the acuracy of the mouse, and the ability to moove at diferent speeds as well. Not to mention, the fire buton on the joystick feels more like the triger on a real gun. M/J FTW!

The only advantage the controler has over the PC is that you can move at different speeds because you can push the analog stick forward a little or a lot. Other than that, the PC mouse and keyboard is more accurate, faster responce time and just better in general. The only reason you see so many using the 360 controler for the demos is because there used to it and afraid to make the switch.

It's not about the console vs. PC argument, it's about the mouse and keyboard vs. the controller. The KB/M is clearly the victor.

Oh, and though I agree about the movement sensitivity of a controller, it's not that big of a deal. Though it would be a great boon to machinimists who wish to make machinimas on H2 Vista, that's not the point. Look at Counter-strike - I don't think being able to move at different speeds on the Xbox version will help too much if your enemy knows how to aim. M/KB FTW!
