I once jumped off the first bridge on Assault on the Control room in solo, bounced off a cliff and a rock, and landed at the bottom without losing any shield or health at all! There were no grenades or shades or anything else like that either. I recorded it too, lucky.

I've also got down to the very bottom of Silent Cartographer in solo, (not the security shaft, the other place) I drove a warthog into the shaft and simply drove off the edge. I was thrown out of the 'hog and bounced safely to the ground. Somehow I managed to not even lose all of my shield. How odd.
There's nothing down there, but it goes really, really deep.

Oh yeah, I forgot.

Like pugz just said, I'm making a series of short videos documenting crazy things one can do on halo, that one is never meant to do in the first place. Including getting to odd areas, skipping checkpoints, killing master chief in the middle of a cutscene, etc.

The first video I've made is set in Assault on the Control Room, and is more related to the exploration of the level that aren't meant to be reached in the way we have. Including a very stylish decent off the first bridge in solo.(I actually landed on a marine's head and survived...hehe)

get it in the video section of my site:

i've always tried to get banshees into places they shouldnt be, but they always get stuck, and i get bored, so i give up....
i wanted to see how fast i could beat one of the longest levels in the game.. so i put it into easy...(i know, its a scary change from legendary) and off i went... i beat assault on the control room in 14 minutes something, but thinking that i could do more i continued and beat 343 guilty spark and the library each in under 15 minutes, i didnt stop running! but yeah it was on easy, i didnt die once! and then i got bored, it was too easy...

i love seeing all the fun stuff you can do! halo is so awesome!

Lets see, I've gotten off of blood gulch and walked around up there on it's nothingness, I've gotten off of sidewinder and battle creek too, I've gotten the warthog like a door in Blood gulch, I've skipped half of SC by going through the door that locks, (and the sword elite was standing there on the other side and I filled him up with needles!), I've gotten off of SC, I've gotten all the vehicles on top of one base on Blood gulch, I've done marine lauching if any of you know what that means (the marines get frozen on AOTCR and you fill them up with needles and plasma grenades and then pass a cretain spot and they got flying), I've gotten the secret banshee on AOTCR, I've gotten the warthog to hover( no lie not touching anything at all not even the wall), gotten a tank to stand up straight on a base and on the ground, I've gotten lauched extremely high (really), I've gotten the tank as a door, I've gotten to the top of Damnation, I've stacked 6 people on each other's heads, and probably more just can't remember them all. And I filmed all of these and should have them on haloib.com soon when I'm done editing them.

I love my Mark V helmet, no upgrade necessary.

I once had a really cool mp win on xbc.
me and 9 other people where playing bloodgulch ctf .
we were 1 flag behind so i thought screw this i grabbed a warthog and raced to their base,
i parked it in the back walked towrds the base and trew a grenade trough the top hole.
then i heard KILLTACCULAR.those fools where al standing by the flag ,i grabbed the flag and drove away and they all spawned in frond of my wheels while i drove back.
now that was carnage.

Once....while playing two betrayals, I sniped a hunter, and accidently shot an invisible elite in the head....also, my friend rocks at the shotgun, and I rock at the SR...he charged me on one of the ledges in BG, I was sniping, I turned around and shot him in the head while it was unzoomedd...he made up some crappy excuse like, "the trigger was stuck!!" even though he shot...he just missed.....

From the Shafted video I can get to the Silent Cartographer in under 20 seconds. And I can Jump from one bridge to the other in AotcR (the one with the sleeping grunts and invincible glass)

yeah what is this yellow banshee!? and i know this is halo xbox, but i played halo on computer at my uncles house and it was soo funny cuz about 6 or so guys respawned in a line and i mowed them down with a banshee!

i once was playing the two betrAyals and i went around a corner and there was a flood, human type, frozen....i hit it and shot it etc.... and then i shot it with my rocket launcher but nothing... so i kept walking and when i got around the corner i heard a "BOOM" and i ran back and it was on the ground dead!?!
the same has happened with an elite, i was following it around a corner when it froze... i died and the same thing happened when i did the same thing! for like 3 times!

My roomate and I have done all sorts of stuff in the name of making speedruns that little bit faster.

We've figured out all sorts of routes. A few of the lesser knowns:

You can divide-and-conquer Halo. Drop one player off at the first area, drive to the next and each clear your own out and converge on the third (the player that gets out will get their own jeep when they finish).

There's a grenade jump that can be done on GS343 after the Flood section that allows you to stay on the top level and save a bit of time (not a lot, but some).

There's another grenade jump that can be made later on to skip 2 or 3 rooms.

In T&R, after you've rescued the captain, when you get back to the control room with the sword elites, don't kill them. Run in and stand by the door, when the elite gets close, run in. Take a shot at the elite to slow it down and make a break for it. As long as you hit the loading zone before the captain gets killed, you have a free pass to the end of the level and you can skip that whole section (which is a few minutes long and it's also easy for the captain to get killed when all the enemies pour in).

In Pillar of Autumn, in the stairway room. Stand on someone's head on the platform and just jump up. It's not huge, but it helps.

In the library, you can head-jump through all the small gaps in partially open doors (this allows for 1 shortcut and 2 places you don't have to wait as long). Also, running around the inside ring of the center rooms avoids all the rocket flood and speeds up the run a bit in addition to preventing several enemies from spawning.

There are some rooms that you can skip by head-jumping through gaps on both AotCR and Two Betrayals (the circular rooms with the centers that only have one path in... there are two and they can both be skipped).

I think that's most of the major ones. We do a ton of smaller tricks, and more common tricks as well. Those are little things that you don't read about much.

Some other stuff we've done.

Find Mendez's Body: In GS343, get on top of the level and find Mendez. Pile a ton of bodies around him, then set off a pile of grenades. Search the level and try to find Mendez. The tons of Master Chief bodies increase the difficulty.

Amputee Elites: Kill each other a few hundred times in any level and then play through. You get lots of weird stuff like the wrong music playing, armless enemies (they lose their arms when you kill them. F'ed if I know where their arms go).

Bottom of the Maw/Silent Cartographer/Halo(indoor): Nothing special here. Our real goal is bottom of Halo(outdoors).

Top of SC/Keyes/Sidewinder/T&R/Halo: All pretty easy. We still haven't gotten top of Blood Gulch or the Maw yet. But top of the maw requires the impossibly annoying Banshee Snatch.

There's plenty more... but I'm too lazy to type them.

Getting a double kill-tacular in mid air. i was in one of the sniper posts in prisoner, jumped fired a rocket into the 2nd floor red room and got a triple kill, pulled out the SR and got two head shots.

not too spectacular, but it was kick ass at the time.
