And about the different color text stuff, I think it's fine the way it is, but I do wish I was here to see it. I think the code went something like:

Type text

Or something like that. But yeah, our text is fine the way it is. It's just text after all.

Though I do wonder what it would be like if we all typed in pink. Now THAT would be cool.

Ah yes. You sire are correct on the color code. Haha, man I remember the guy who always typed in green too. Wooo! Those were some wild times... Pink would also be the shiznit.
From what I can remember from HTML is that the color was in quotes. Was likely different here, however.

Wait a second, Achronos has posted and this thread doesn't have a golden septagon.

Weird.

Lag maybe?

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

I think it's because this thread was moved from the Underground. It had the gold septagon when it was over there, if I remember correctly.

Thanks iceman I will have to add that in sometime...

Also the markup tags that are used, are almost identical to HTML text markup tags. Except instead of "< >" you use "[ ]".

Nice post, iamthey.

But there's also "Content Monkey" and "Super User"

Frankie is the Content Monkey, and he interacts with us as well, and teams up with Sketch for shenanigans.

Super Users are: Weresnail and Sawnose.

Weresnail reports problems to Achronos (or at least that's what he says he does, but I'm not sure that's his actual job) and Sawnose handles the stats page on this site.

Then there's Runningturtle. I guess you can call him a Super User, but his title is "On-line Team." But the fact that he's the only other one who can program this site leads me to believe he has Super User status.

Skiptrace and KP should technically be a little higher up on the heirarchy. At least, I would imagine, seeing as how they both have Master Moderator status in HFCS. But neither of them are here to Moderate (but they can still issue bans.)

Other than those little things, that was a very thorough and organized post.

No you don't. You'd be surprised to know just how many people have absolutely awful taste. Or no taste.

Actually, I don't think anyone would be surprised to find that out.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

Enkidu? Now THOSE were some terminal screens.
That's why Anton is a God amongst us mere mortals.

On subject; I hated the color markup tags and was glad when they were retired. It usually looked like a box of crayolas vomited on the screen. Only a few users really used them well. GJJ comes to mind.

It may have been entertaining, but there is no way they could be practical. People abused it, and made rainbow posts that were almost impossible to read. It got to a point where the colors almost overpowered the information it self. The system had to be ripped. It was not that it did not work, it was that people could not handle the ability to change the color of their text; with out insisting on making a post that had more colors than there were words. Ultimately it was a disaster.

I don't think it was that bad. However, I do remember that it wasn't used very much...I didn't see a lot of people use the system

Yellow text isn't for moderators. It's for employees. White text is for moderators.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Those guys are moderators,

be a good member, be active for about 3 years.

then you'll get that,

and MUCH more.

no promises

Yellow is administrator. They work for Bungie. White is the moderators =]

EDIT: Pwnt by spartakus =[
And iam, you're really overexaggerating it. I'm not sure if you were there for it or not, but It was hardly a disaster. It was more of a nuiscence. I don't see why the people who did that couldn't have just been banned, as happens with any other rule violator. The biggest thing that people would do is post insults in the same color as the background, and post entire threads in lime green text. I think a ban would quickly fix that though.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

Am I the only one who doesn't think that there was enough real abuse to warrant removing the colors in the first place? Invisible text was useful, if anything. Perfect spoiler hiding!
