This is a very broad question pointed at any and all Forum Ninjas At Bungie.net,

What is it like...

Do you guys find it busy, stressfull, hardwork?

When you log on, what do you do? randomly go on a forum, look at new threads...

if it interests you then you reply in it?

It must be tought banning, and supsending, and Moderating...all day long...

Or is it easy?

And how long did It take you hard working, post answering, Bungie active members to "become" Forum Moderators? I mean...I guess it would take awile, and you would have to be a highly respected member of the community...

I mean, back when Bungie.net was young *gasp!*, were you selected, or did you have special connections with bungie; or were you just average joe's that like Halo?

also, Do you, the Moderators, have an "special" Archive of Avatars? or can you freely choose one of your personal liking,

In conclusion, how much of a responsibility do you guys think being a Forum Moderator at Bungie.net is on a scale of 1-10?

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10+!

also, If some thing are "secret" feel free not to answer. I wont hold it against you.

They probably wish that they could post like normal members without being praised or thought of as Bungie employees or despised.

I'm sure most of them wish they didn't have white text.

And I'm sure some of them have multiple accounts so they can post like a normal person.

It is like a cursed blessing.

Maybe I'm one of the moderator's other accounts?

I guess only Recon Number 54 and me will ever know. But whats the difference :O

You ever had milled carbon fiber in your skin?

Do you guys find it busy, stressfull, hardwork?Yes, yes, and..uh, yes.

When you log on, what do you do? randomly go on a forum, look at new threads... I check the Mod Group for news, then I visit the Septagon, and the Underground, then I poke my head in the other forums for a few moments and then sit on the Flood.

if it interests you then you reply in it? Sometimes yes. Most of the time, no.

It must be tought banning, and supsending, and Moderating...all day long... Banning is a last resort, warnings and locks are generally first, I'd rather everyone behave so I didn't have to do any of that.

Or is it easy? Nope.

We were selected because of contributions to the community and our interaction skills mostly.

also, Do you, the Moderators, have an "special" Archive of Avatars? or can you freely choose one of your personal liking, We can make a custom avatar, although it still has to fit the site requirements for size. Most of us retain a Bungie themed avatar, but Monty Python and pop music make it in sometimes.

It's hard to measure responsibility like that for me. In my world, you're either responsible to any given aspect of your life or you aren't. We have to be responsible, because in some sense we represent a model of a forum user. To some extent we represent what Bungie wishes the face of the forums to be like. We were all regular members at one time, it was just behavior and social aptitude that caught people's attention. It's a doble edged sword though, because with the recognition and the power to protect the forum comes the attention of those who would wish the forum ill, and we consistently get hate mail and sometimes worse from ne'er do well (former) members.

I don't find it very bad at all. I find the hate mail amusing, the flaming and suck ups' laughable and just do what I can to help. The biggest problem I find is the fact that I am all too often waiting for something to go wrong.

The one thing that gets to you is the pressure though. If you make a mistake everyone analyses it and tries to get you in trouble with the other moderators, if you make a post about Halo you are scrutinised to see if you leak any information (I know as much as the next guy, by the way) and everyone has certain expecations for you to meet. Sometimes it is Russian-Roulette just to post like a normal member.

It isn't that awful - just monotonous and worrysome.

You should trust your judgment more. Two points to consider:
* You were selected to be a moderator for a reason. Achronos has faith in your judgment.

* You know the rules better than the stupid tools who get upset about the moderators every other week.

* If you make a mistake on Bungie.net, it's not really that big a deal. It's not like you can screw up the website. Everyone makes mistakes, and really, if you wrongly ban somebody (for whatever reason), first of all, it's pretty easy to get a Master Ninja to unban them, and secondly, the only thing that's happened is that you've made somebody explore the rest of the world for a little bit. And if they get overly upset about that, they're most likely a bad person and deserved the ban anyway.

To me, this falls under the "don't create threads to ask moderators questions" "rule". Just take a look at the Moderator FAQ to get your moderator questions answered; and if they still are not answered, feel free to PM one or all of us to get them answered. And I really don't feel like hearing the excuse, "But some of the ninjas don't reply to their PMs!" because if they don't reply to the PM asking the question, they wouldn't reply to this thread.

I'm locking this now. If another moderator really feels as though this is beneficial to the community, feel free to unlock it.

I only left it because I like letting a few replies get in to answer the question, then lock it.
