If it also happens when you are host, my main question would be: are you on a dual core processor? It looks like the dual-proc jumpyness I get. Sometimes halo hates dual cores and you have to shut off one core. Sometimes it doesn't though, just trial and eroor.

In high definition baby!

It's probably the server's upload speed. When you search for a server, pick the gane with a fairly low ping like I do.

How much hard drive space do you have left?

Have you run a virus check recently? What other programs do you have running while Halo is? Check your system proccesses in task manager and look out for programs with high mem usage.

Have you tried lowering quality?

Are you running any external programs?

Such as FlyCam, if you click the "MC doesn't move", you get a very similar effect.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you've changed your processor. The dual core thing tends to be off and on. So just a simple question: What processor do you have?

I get the same thing. If you do have a dual core processor, like me, you have to tell halo to only use one of the cores (ctrl + alt + del, right click halo.exe, Set Affinity, and pick a core.)

Fixed it for me.

Yeah, you only have one. Also, I've never had a problem with dual core and Halo. Try asking your question here Rob:

I have seen that happen on my machine when I upgraded to incompatible memory. But it was much worse. Do you have some spare memory to test with? Your memory may be going bad.

System Memory i.e. the memory chips you put into the motherboard.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

my framerate is typically up at 80+ when not recording and 30 when i am recording

it's not my fps I know that
hmm, this is a very weird problem. The only time this has happened to me was when i was in a modded server and the mod made you run super fast i got jerked around like that when i ran.

I would imagine this is an environmental problem, when was the last time you took off the case of the PC and cleaned it out?

Also, check to see if there's an AM/FM radio nearby, if there is, move it.

If there's a microwave within somewhere around fifteen feet, it can also cause intermittent problems.

Also, hire somebody to troubleshoot your hardware like your RAM unless you feel qualified to go poking around the components of your case yourself. Should you choose the latter however, there are some precautions to take.
