His PS2 has been sitting around and hasn't been played for over a month, and before that a few months. Mainly, his PS2 just sits around and collect dust! I have tried and finally convinced him to get a Xbox, only one problem, now he has parents who need convincing why their son should listen to me! If you could help me out in creative and simple ways to explain to his parents on why the switch would be a good idea, that would be awesome. And yes, I have already brought up Halo 2!

Tell his parents they can use Xbox Live to make their long distance phone calls for only $50.00 a year.

Nice, is that through xbox live? Or is that a separate cost?

It's through Live. The only downside: the person you talk to also has to have Live.

Tell them about how the Xbox has LAN capability and the potential to expand with growing technology. Through the Live connection your friend can meet new people from different countries maybe learn a little about life in say Russia or someplace or even learn a new language while playing on Live. I don't know if this is true for all PS2s or not but all of my friends who have or had (key word "had") PS2s say that their PS2 wasn't very sturdy. By that I mean is that they break very easily. Plus all of my friends wanted or did sell thier PS2 and buy an Xbox once they played one. The PS2 can be fun don't get me wrong but the Xbox is just the better system overall.

Edit: Ok so I may be stretching the truth there with the whole learning a new language thing but technically there is the potential for it.

If he gets the xbox he will sell his PS2 and all the game's he has for it so he can pay them back slightly for the xbox.
