Meh, all you people pwnt my rig. I need to upgrade three things: RAM, GPU and monitor. The three most expensive things *sigh*.

what a bout a processor? best processor is more expensive than the best ram or best GPU.

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

^Only if you get ripped off. At the moment, if you're buying a new PC, go for a mid Range Intel Core 2 Duo processor. For example, get a E6400 or a E6600(if you're more enthusiastic. This is my plan for the new year, get a mid-range Core 2 system, which will rock supremely, then add in the peripheral components. If you've got an older rig, with a 486-slot say, then you can get very good Intel CPU's like P4's and some older model Celeron D's if your budget is ultra-tight!

I was talking about the best of the best.

Like the X6800

The GX2

And 2GB of 1000MHZ

The current machine I'm on is an AMD Duron 900 Mhz with 256 Meg's of ram with some video card or other. It sucks, I miss my rig!

My computer: AMD Athlon 2.6 (clocked at 3.6) Ghz
1025 Meg DDR Ram
ATI Radeon 9550

"I was talking about the best of the best."

Only mugs get top of the range CPU's, when they're about £/$300 more expensive for a 5% performance premium. Next to top of the range i.e. the E6700 is the most anyone sensible will go, because not only will you not USE the full power of a X6800, but most people don't want to waste their cash. If you're being sponsored and ur getting an Alienware PC and not paying for it (like the guys who run PCGamer), then THAT is the only situation where it's sensible really.

If you have spare cash or alot of money, I see no reason why not to get a super rig.

Either way, a mid range graphics card still costs less than a mid range processor, like the e6600 (Not really mid range, but it is more expensive than a 7900gto or 2gb ddr2 667mhz ram.

I suppose, yea. But then the CPU is the one thing in the PC you can't do without, and is the single most important thing for general PC performance, so it ought to be the most expensive, if anything. Depends on whether or not you get a current gen. chip or not. I think some of those old Pentium D's, which still have very good performance, are going cheap as HELL at the moment, because the market is being flooded with Core 2's.

X1950 Pro > X1900GT

Yes, but we all know that the Radeon X1950 XTX > X1950PRO>X1900GT
It's the fastest GPU on the market. If you're rich, I say buy two of these just to laugh at your friends.

X1950 Pro > X1900GT

Thats like comparing a $4 bottle of mineral water with a $0.50 bottle of water you buy at a convience store in the middle of nowhere. Ones the budget version, ones the top-of-the-line model.

Actually, I recently saw an X1950 Pro for $164... And it's better than the most expensive X1900GT, but for much less. Now that is the BEST bang for your buck ever - no exceptions.
